Hello lovely ladies! Okay so strange question I know, but my partner is offshore for my birthday in two weeks and everyone is working, so my best friend has been lovely as always and has booked us in for a back massage and day full of treatments and lovely things! I'm nearly 6 months pregnant and have started thinking, will I be able or allowed to get a massage?! Hope everyone is well x

Birthday surprise from friend - booked me in for a back massage, can I get it at 5 months pregnant?!?!
What a nice thoughtful friend you have.
I had a full body massage at 29 weeks, but it was given by someone trained in pregnancy massage. She didn't massage my bump and used cushions to help me lie comfortably.
I think a back massage is safe in itself, but there are definitely some oils that shouldn't be used in pregnancy.
You should be ok with a light massage - the main problem will likely be the therapist as some will not work on a pregnant lady... Call them and see what packages they offer and what their stance is (and what a lovely friend...)

Double check and see if they do pregnancy massage as its different to a regular massage but yeh some people wont do a regular massage on a pregnant lady x
I was 6 months pregnant when my mum booked me & my sister in for massages etc, they wouldn't do it at the spa I went to I ended up having a face and hand massage instead. Still as nice.
My friend did th same for me a couple of weeks ago, they didn't do a back massage on me, instead they did an all over exfoliation and oils whil she was gettin hers it was great!
