Hi I have only been on this site for a week. I have been trying to get PIP and it is a nightmare I feel humiliated degraded as if I am a malingerer. Has anyone else experienced this. Geraldine

I have applied for PIP help from Macmillan. I'm lucky to have that support. It's not nice having to ask for help. It is PiP job to make you feel degraded,so you give up on claiming.

Do not let them do that to you.

I wish you well

I wish you well in your quest. At the time I did not even know about PIP but I was granted ESA - I later, a lot later found out about PIP. I did claim and completed the form as honestly as I could but naturally this was rejected and I didn't take it any further. Yes, it is completely humiliating and degrading also and there are folk with far worse than myself also been rejected. There is a very good form - benefitsandwork.co.uk you can go to get further help and information. Good luck x

Hi, many thanks but I'm over the age to reapply now. Also it was so frustrating and humiliating with the ESA also having two face to face meetings, that I didn't take the PIP further - maybe I should have done but I was just finding it all far too stressful, but really hope yours goes ok.

I believe it is easier to get than PIP.

I get PIP, well until the review is sorted in NOvember when I suspect they will do all they can to take it off me. However, I didn't get it for anything cancer related although I am keeping them updated with regards to the cancer and Radiation Proctitis. So I understand where you are coming from. Have you joined these people, Benefits & Work - they have a great resource and forum: mail.google.com/mail/u/1/#l...

I suspect they will try their hardest to take it from me as they really didn't want to give it to me three years ago.

I got pip when first diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. A nice lady from Macmillan helped me complete the form.
