Hi Everyone I was treated in July of last year for cervical cancer stage 2. I received 28 x external radiation, 3 x Chemo (should have been 6 but made me too sick so we had to stop) 3 x Brachytherapy. I finished all treatment in Sept 2023. I am and have been experiencing severe bowel incontinence with constant diarrhoea and bladder leakage. I am awaiting on my referral for PID diagnosis as I have not actually been diagnosed yet. I was just hoping to come on here for a bit of guidance and support really. Make me feel like I am not loosing my mind and feeling drained and alone in this. It’s been almost a year since treatment and I thought I would be feeling better. Feeling quite down about it all this week.
Thanks and I hope someone can relate X

Sounds worse than my situation, very sorry about that because it really sucks. I found I was getting SIBO and antibiotics would cure the diarrhea for a while then it would slowly get bad again so I would start another round. Turns out the PPI (Nexium) for acid was the cause of the SIBO and when I stopped taking it the diarrhea almost completely went way. Switched to famidine for the acid since it doesn’t really contribute to SIBO. Being off the PPI really improved my life. Could also be bile acid malabsorption but that wasn’t the case for me.

hi sunflower, has anyone suggested hyperbaric oxygen therapy. It can be very helpful for healing. I had 6 weeks of treatment many years after initial radiation and it helped me. It’s more successful the closer it’s done to initial radiation. Might be worth looking into.
it needs to be conducted by a hospital or special medical service, eg. for divers or for carbon monoxide poisoning etc. I say this because there are alternative health practioners who may advertise, but they will just have a little pod.
