I have tried several versions of this painting since I posted a drawing of it some days ago. I think I learned much from painting this one, though it still needs some work. I love the vibrancy of the colours, and the way I was able to paint the grasses to the right -- though the latter required that I wreck one of my wife's acrylic brushes to get the effect. I like the leaves on the trees too.
I might do yet another version of this picture, but I hope this one marks a breakthrough in my painting style.
This is a 10" by 8" watercolour with salt, masking fluid and a little oil pastel. It was painted over three days.

I love the vibrant colours too BrentW and I especially love the way the foliage to the right of the path turned out.
This is a really fantastic painting. My favorite part is the way the grass and flowers off to the side look next to each other. ๐๐๐๐น๐ธ๐๐บ๐ท๐ป๐ฅ๐ผ
That has worked out really well - I love the effect of the salt in the foliage and the grasses are great, fabulous combination of colour and texture. I used to use salt, and a hairdryer to 'fix' when I was happy with the effect. Happy days. You make me think about getting out my paints again.
The grasses and trees make the right side of the painting especially interesting, and I love their vibrancy too! I hope your wife has forgiven you for โwreckingโ her brush! Itโs probably yours to keep now though ... so more โgrassesโ can be in your future!
