Ever have a song keep "playing" in your head?

β€’47 Replies

I just suggested a song to another group member and now that very song is playing on a loop in my internal MP3 player.

Joe Walsh

"Meadows" Now I am compelled to hit the trail before the sun gets too low...

I sometimes get certain songs in my mind after they play a few times on my radio each day. Some are my favorite ones.πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŒˆπŸŽΆπŸŽΌ

Musicians get earworms all the time, especially if they have been rehearsing certain works a lot. The only way to get rid of them is to replace them with another. Unfortunately, it's the TV jingles that tend to stick.

Thanks a lot LL. Only one mindworm's ever done that to me.

"We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun..." Dah dah dah dum.

How'm I gonna lose that now?

Today, I have had a few Christmas songs stuck in my head. Since those were ingrained since birth, it is tough to get them out of there. I finally went with a British song "Fish heads fish heads roley poley fish heads................................................yum!"

β€’ in reply tojorrell

Oh geeeze... Look what I started! Mia Culpa!

jorrell profile image
jorrellβ€’ in reply to

Yep, that one is tough... before you get into such items as Monty Python and the Holy Grail with the Knights who say "ni!" If that isn't enough, there is always Max Headroom. Just don't forget about Spinal Tap!

Blimey. I thought I was the only one on the planet who remembers this song. Now it will be stuck in my head all dayπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The Cure Just like Heaven. I have woken up with this ear worm every morning this week but at least it’s a very good ear worm and has led me to dig out my CDs again and rock out to The Cure😊. Good postπŸ‘

Hello there Lazaruslong. Never heard of the Artist or the song but will check it out. Thanks

β€’ in reply toBingo88

Hi Bingo... It's an old hard rock classic. Not everyone likes it. Hope you do.

Yes certainly enjoyed it and will check out more of his music. Thanks

You're welcome. Joe Walsh played with James Gang, Barnstorm , did a lot of self titled albums and then worked with Eagles.. He has quite a catalogue.. You can find almost anything by /him on Amazon music.

Hello

What? Doesn't everyone have songs playing in their head?

β€’ in reply toBig_Dee

They probably do. They're simply afraid to admit to it.πŸ˜‰πŸŽΆπŸŽΌπŸŽ΅

Good to hear that again, thanks, and yes, all the time, I have a constant soundtrack. For some reason listening to that just made me want to listen to some Frampton, so Do You Feel Like I Do? (Had to get Seasons In The Sun out of my head.....)

My pleasure! They have gone on to form other bands etc now, but they were good together when young. I've progressed to some Walter Trout during the afternoon -Tremble playing now and just listened to Running In Place - so much good music. Cheers

Ill have to look for them. Oh yes Walter Trout! A friend of mine turned me on to him a couple of years ago. Very nice!

I wake up to radio on a morning and often find myself singing that song all day which can be annoying if don't like it

Various good songs in their day, now "ruined" by facile commercials, previously you remembered the song because it was nice and melodic, now all you think of is a building society, fruit drinks, erectile disfunction, deorderant? Do the original songsters get commission for the various plagarisms of their past melodic masterpieces? Doubtful?πŸ₯΄πŸ₯΄πŸ™„πŸ˜—

When down in my lowest it is always "Let's work together" by Canned Heat that got my old blood cells going again! Applauding the NHS I had that blaring out, a couple of the older neighbours, thumbs up to my choice!πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ‘

I always liked " Gong Up The Country "... So when I retired I did!

Desperado plays in my mind, continuously. The Eagle's version is by far the best.

β€’ in reply to

" Desperado " is my " theme song".. πŸ˜†

The Eagles are so talented. Desperado is a good song and it’s beautiful and sad.

Right now I’ve got β€œSixteen going on seventeen” in my head Lasaruslong.
