Lie in and late breakfast today, watched St trinians on DVD, had a walk round the neighbourhood, watched jaws 2 on DVD, cut up some veg for Sunday lunch tomorrow and got tonight's dinner prepared as well and got on with some Scottish gaelic.

Did household chores, wiped and put away supermarket delivery. Had lunch, watched birds in garden, listened to music, played online chess. Had a look through some interesting books on Impressionist painting and Claude Monet masterpieces. Will have evening meal later and hoping to read or watch TV this evening, not fall asleep! 🙂

Hi Rachmaninov. It sounds as though you had a good day. Thank you for sharing 'The Magpie' - really beautiful!

I should think about having my groceries delivered as well - I really do not like supermarket shopping so will have a look into it 😊

Hello Dovedale, yes I thought I would spend the afternoon doing things that bring me fulfilment. I’m glad you liked ‘The Magpie’, I see quite a few of them in the garden.

Yes do look into it, it does make life easier. I would have been lost without it. I use Sainsbury’s. 🙂👍

It is so important to do things that bring fulfilment, especially in these troubling times - so good for relaxation and wellbeing.

There are quite a number of magpies in and around my garden too. If I see just one, I have to do the 'salute' - old habits die hard!

I also shop at Sainsbury's so will look into doing it online. I don't really like supermarkets, especially when they are busy 😊

I pick my times carefully when going to food shops these days. 3.30 pm often seems a good time. Any later and it starts to get busy, then a queue appears.

Starting in July 2020, as I am in semi-isolation, every Thursday about 3.00 I slip down to my local supermarket, and get a weekly shopping in, this is where a large fridge/freezer becomes invaluable [mine is about 7 foot high, just the job for a person on his own] I get a taxi back, thus I only have one visit a week! I am currently waiting for my 2nd jab at the end of the month, so hopefully now getting out a bit more? Must not forget my masks! Stay safe everybody👍👍

7 foot high! That’s amazingly good size for a freezer. I’m envious! Never mind I’ll make do with my chest freezer in the garage and my fridge freezer in the kitchen and my smallish freezer in the pantry. I’m waiting for my 2nd jab too. Maybe at the end of the month

That's what I thought when it was dragged into the kitchen! Good job!

Rosepetal60 in reply toAdlon57

Bit of planning you had there as to what was going in each drawer.

The previous one was at least 15 years old, about 4 foot tall, I got this one online, did not realise how big it was, but it's family size, I live on me own, but pandemic size good for storing fresh fruit and veg for a week!

That is a very good idea. I normally go early in the morning around 7:30 but it was busy at that time last Thursday - that could be due to Easter weekend 😊

Mine are just top up shops, as get an Ocado shop delivered. If I see there’s a queue, I go on to Sainsbury’s which is 2 minutes drive away round the back way. System works for me as there’s no way I could get up and be in a shop at 7.30 am. Strange when I think about it because I used to be at work in another lifetime @ 7.30 am

Good question Macy’s JCPenney probably go to a shoe store because I need some new shoes ☺️

Rosepetal60 profile image
Rosepetal60 in reply toHb2003

That is interesting because the name Macy’s reminds me of the time I was training to be a shop assistant in a department store in London, England. I’m going back some years here!. Macy’s had made some videos of their store which we were shown as part of our training. So thank you for the memory . x🙂

Hi Jenny. I'm glad you had a good day and that Tesco was not too busy. I am surprised about that but perhaps people did their shopping yesterday instead.

I did some chores this morning - cleaned the hob, washed the vacuum cleaner filter and a little ironing (which I hate!). I went for a walk after lunch. The weather is very sunny but there is a cold wind. I have also done a little in the garden and it is a lovely evening.

Have a good evening 😊

It's a small tesco express

Dovedale4 in reply toJennymary

Ah, I see! I thought you meant the larger supermarket. Good that it was quiet 😊

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply toDovedale4

Washing the vacuum cleaner filter is on my to do list, it’s one of those things that get forgotten. It’s been very chilly all day here, not gardening weather but I’m glad you were able to get a bit done. 🙂👍🌸

Dovedale4 profile image
Dovedale4 in reply toRachmaninov2

It's something I dislike doing (seem to have done lots of that today!). The vacuum cleaner is not picking up very well and I could see that the filter was clogged. It's recommended to do it once a month but I think I last did it about 8 months ago!🤭

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply toDovedale4

Perhaps you can make up for it tomorrow and spend some time doing things you enjoy. I’ve decided that life’s too short not to. 🦋🌸

Exactly, that’s why I put it on my to do list because I would forget about it until the vacuum stopped picking up properly. 🙂

Absolutely! I will make up for it tomorrow. Have a good evening 😊🌷

Milo all day long.

I was a bit horrified to hear on the local weather forecast just now that it 'will be much colder on Easter Monday'! Yikes! It was cold enough today to keep me indoors. I had another day of unashamed crafting with my scrapbook and my theme for today was Tennyson's poem The Owl. It's always stayed in my head since it was the subject of our painting composition for my 'O' level nearly 60 years ago! Apart from that I've just made a frittata to have for our evening meal with jacket potatoes. I agree it's a bonus that the weather's stayed dry and bright! 👍🔆😊

Ours has stayed on ( coal boiler) except when it went out, but was quickly sorted and lit again. Not put the pump on though to circulate it as kitchen and bedroom warm and sitting room has open fire. .

Sounds like your day went well Jenny.

We've had the sun today with a cold wind as well. I went for an early walk this morning, then to the local shop and then the grandchildren came out with mummy and daddy, they loved playing bubbles in the garden.

in reply toRosepetal60

Oh you really cannot do without bubbles, I have them now stored in my cupboard along with the ones we had before.

Fully attacked back garden, first time properly since pre-pandemic, green weed yuck!🌱🍂🍀🌿almost felt the garden go AAH! Still that 20ft fir tree in front🌲blocking front door and view from 2nd floor mancave🌲thirty years jobbie [actually holding up part of front road!] one reason for house price so low? [anybody cut down trees?] Luvely day, brilliant for BBQ but relatives still in their isolation modes!🌞😎
