Hi Clive,

I personally think that depending on the type of website a person visits may influence the type of ads/scams being shown. πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŒˆ

I hope this helps.πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŒˆ

I totally agree with you Leah , it's unfortunate there is a lot of scams out there and to prey on the vulnerable .Clive x πŸ€—

Thank you! I have seen a lot over the last few years for very odd items/scams. When you see a certain type of show on TV, the next few minutes are showing how to get β€˜easy’ money! I know those are definitely not good, so I never get fooled by what is being said at the time. πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŒˆ

Over here Leah you get a call to say they have a parcel at the depo and you have to pay some money to get it delivered which people do but they don't

That’s not good. I didn’t know that that was happening. Thank you for letting me know. Something to remember, so if I hear from someone saying that they wanted to know if I was sending them something, then I know something wasn’t rightβ€” especially when the person wasn’t the one that I would send them a package usually. For those who have gotten packages from me in the past, they know that I would always let them know personally if and then I will/have sent something out.πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŒˆ

I think it's had a really bad effect on many things Clive. I detest the way in which people who are complete strangers choose to be rude and cruel, and I think that having to do everything online has caused a dreadful lack of customer service and customer care. It's also isolating as you get to interface with far fewer people daily. But I love it for also helping me to be in touch with some other people too. Imagine if we hadn't had the internet over the past year. At times it's kept me sane because through its use I've been able to travel vicariously, learn new skills and continue to buy many things I wouldn't have been able to do in the pandemic otherwise.

But I do think that we all need to learn the downside and how to protect ourselves from trouble, and particularly how to protect the young from predators, and for the sites we use to protect us from those who want to scam or be cruel.

Hi Sue, couldn't have put it better myself. I have just had problems on my tablet logging in I usually keep logged in but just come back on and it said I was logged out and I couldn't log in with my password and had to reset password to get back in because last night I put tablet into factory mode and kept all emails . Hi Clive, I hope that blip with log-in was a one-off, but if it keeps continuing now you've changed your password, please report it to HU support just in case there's some kind of issue, though I haven't heard any other reports of this so far. Keep us posted on this! πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Personally there is nothing wrong with the Internet, its the misuse of it that's wrong and the stuff people are able to put up. Unfortunately there's a lot of harmful stuff and that's why you need some sensible rules, but its mostly harmless and educational. I access original historical sources for example which are online or go to reputable sites for information, but that's through experience. You have to really look at some sites and make a decision. If you stick with the wholesome stuff you are o. K. Its the other things you need to avoid and they shouldn't be there in the first place.

Yes, scams is the worst thing. If anyone asks you for money that's the first sign it's a scam. I hang up or ignore it. It's always someone outside the country and the police say they can't do anything which is bad. Be careful and take care.

Yes I think like everything these days good and bad. Think the old days of speaking to a certain person. And only you 2 knew the information was a lot safer than these days

Hello Littleboy

I hope I can sum this up with few words. The internet is a curse and a blessing. I enjoy the information I gleam from the internet but at the cost of non-stop scams and privacy loss. I don't mind the lose of privacy as much as the horrendous time loss due to continuous adds and scripts and attempt to get you to upgrade from a stable platform to a un-stable platform. Were it not for HealthUnlocked I would consider dumping internet.

Well much like any tool it can be good or bad depending on the way it is used. Take for example the way in which the world has come together to connect and we can now learn things and communicate in ways that are truly awe inspiring. But on the other hand people do shady things on the internet all the time whether that be hacking or selling illegal goods and services. I think mostly people want to do good with it and that is why we keep seeing leaps and bounds in breakthroughs in technology and medicine. But so long as there is market for it bad things will inevitably pop up. The other side of the coin is that people can get lost in the online world vs the real world. This generation has the most access to information and communication of any other yet we are also the most lonely. Like most things moderation needs to be considered and we need to remember that there are core parts of our being that need to be maintained in order to be happy. Connections with others is a big one. And I don't mean a facebook friend I mean someone you can call when you need help. A person who is there for you and truly loves you. A person who wants to see your flourish. This is necessary for any deep connection romantic or not. So while the advent of internet and the increase of tech is wonderful we also need to be careful and make sure we don't lose ourselves with it.
