I saw a big pileated woodpecker, tapping and skrawking around near the barn today while doing chores. They are about 16-19 inches (41-48 cm!) long. I drew her (looking at some images to help find detail, like the tiny tiny eyebrow) this evening.

Very good Wallowa, I’m not sure that we have any woodpeckers like that here in the UK. I like the tree bark effect.
