The one that has the best prices this week wiserlady! πππ
Or the one that insists that customers wear a mask when shopping! π
The ones that offer the best value for money are the ones I visit but only when absolutely desperate.
The ones that deliver what you ordered or at least make sensible substitutions.
I have had delivery's from Waitrose (rarely as has the most, " not available") also need to spend a lot for delivery. I have had Ocado, now has Marks and Spencer on board, use rarely, but it does have things others do not. The best for me is Sainsburys, good value on delivery. Regarding the substitutions, I like Sainsburys as you can mark the things you do not want substituted, useful for me as so many things I cannot eat.
I've used Tesco for my main shop since we got married many years back. Always visited the shop until I became ill 10 years back so now have a home delivery or occasionally a click and collect when one hasn't been available. All the delivery drivers have been wonderful even walking up our very steep slippy hill in the snow and ice carrying big crates when we had the last lot of snow when he couldn't get the van any nearer. There substitutes have been sensible and there have rarely been shortages.
When I was still working and worked for a charity they even paid my wage for a year when we couldn't get funding for my role and were so impressed by what we were doing gave us another Β£750 to help out.
When I made the foolish mistake when feeling really ill of thinking I had arranged to have my groceries delivered but had in fact booked a click and collect they redid the grocery order and reopened the click and collect for me so I didn't go without. For all this kindness and others that I won't bore you with they would have to do something terrible for me to desert them.x
I once sat here getting very worried for the Sainsbury's driver, was due between 10 and 11 am, when midday came I 'phoned, more concerned for the driver than anything. The very helpful man on the 'phone checked everything. asked if I had had the text, I said no, then (without any sign of a giggle, or crossness) he gently explained the order was down for 11. ish in the evening. I felt such a fool. Without me asking, he had me put on the next round, the goods could be got ready for, so I had my food at 5 pm. Could never fault the staff.
Oh dear, my elderly friend did that this week. She was convinced she had booked her usually time with Sainsbury's of 9-10 and it didn't turn up she waited until 12 but didn't get through so she had her midday meal and whilst she was doing it checked her emails and noticed that yes her delivery was 9-10 at night. She said she was glad she didn't make a fool of herself by ringing but I told her when I made a right Horlicks of my delivery Tesco couldn't have been kinder.x
Waitrose is the only one I feel comfortable in at the moment. For months here you must wear a mask, numbers inside are limited, you sanitise your hands before you go in. Your trolley or basket is sanitised before itβs given to you and you hand it back to be sanitised again.
TESCO - THEY HAVE BEEN DELIVERING TO ME FOR 21 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER MISSED A DELIVERY SLOT. CAN'T BE BAD.
Asda for home delivery and my local Tesco for top ups (Tesco very rarely have delivery slots available)
