I wish I could say that it was my bookshelf and that those were my books, but they belong to the owner of the house. It's a happy accident that the bookshelf was in the room we're renting. (One of these days, I'll have to tell you about my actual book collection, which waits patiently for me in a Maine storage facility.)

Dresden Dolls are very cool. And I love Neil Gaiman! Since you're such a sleuth, you have probably already noticed how very worn out my "Good Omens" is... It's my favorite book. I made a little piece of "art" (if you could call it that) based on my favorite quote from the book 😊

A writer/poet is a detective...of sorts: you always have your antenna out for sources of (for lack of a better word) inspiration, and you try to pay attention to the details people normally might not. 🕵️♂️
How did you make your art? Are those leaves? I am going to sit with that quote for a while (my dim bulb brain doesn't generate much light💡 ), but I'd love to know what the quote means to you, if you're willing to share.

They are rose petals, dried and glued to a black background. I wrote the quote on cardstock and burned the edges 😼🔥 Your brain is brilliantly dazzling, not dim. The first time I discovered that quote, I re-read it a few dozen times and dog-eared the page so that I could continue to re-read it and re-interpret its significance. I promise I have coherent thoughts about what this quote means to me, but there are kids screaming outside (11 year old's birthday party) and my roommate is blasting the Hamilton soundtrack so I am having a hard time writing out anything cogent. I will have to explain the quote's meaning in a bit...

YES! We can grind up those white sticks, mix them with some Pixie Stix (for flavor) add some butter and flour and whatever else goes in a crust, and voilà! Candy Crust 😸
