Hi everyone. Here's the BRAINWORKS for February 23rd. You can use the clues to help figure out the theme and fill in the missing letters in each word. You can take your time and ask questions. There's no need to rush. This is for fun! :-)

Fill in the Blank

1. D __ C __ __ R ( See when sick)

2. H __ U __ E ( A place you live)

3. M __ N __ __ Y/ I __/ T __ __ / M __ D __ L __ ( Keep away/uses a ball (4 words))

4. L __ __ B __ ( Use a stick/how far you can go)

5. T __ C/ T __ __ / T __ __ ( X and O ( 3 words))

You did a fantastic job, Rachmaninov2 ! :-)

How's everything today? :-)

Thank you Leah, I wasn’t confident that I had the theme right today. I had a good day, as we had some lovely weather I went for a short walk. Then I made a healthy and tasty lunch.

I hope everything is going well for you too.🙂

What did you have for lunch today? I had tuna mixed with pinenut hummus, an apple and some hot tea on the side. :-)

The day is going okay so far. Much sunnier than earlier today, so that's good. :-)

Planning to do some reading soon after I post the new poll for everyone this evening. That will be done in one hour. :-)

I had tuna, pasta and pasta sauce with broccoli, spinach, kale and courgette.Your lunch sounds tasty, I’ve never heard of pine nut hummus. Did you make it yourself?

I must get down to some reading, I started What Remains by Tim Weaver but couldn’t get into it. I do need to try again.

Thank you! I didn’t make the hummus for lunch, but I have done homemade hummus a few times before for dinners.

What is What Remains about? It sounds like an interesting book title. Would you like to add it to the March Reading Rabbits posting?😀👍🌈

It’s crime fiction Leah, could do but it is taking me a while to get into it. I’m not sure that’s a good recommendation.

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004 in reply toRachmaninov2

I read mysteries/thrillers/romance/horror stories. 😀👍🌈

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply toActivity2004

That’s a wide variety, I have tended to change my categories at different periods in my life. Horror, Historical, Crime.

I’m a big fan of Stephen King and James Patterson. I also read Nora Roberts and Lindsey Kelk— along with other romance authors!😀👍🌈📖🐇📚

Rachmaninov2 in reply toActivity2004

Yes, I went through a phase of Stephen King many years ago. Again many years ago I read all the Agatha Christie’s. Never been into romances.

Activity2004 in reply toRachmaninov2

Which Agatha Christie books do you have?😀👍🌈📚🐇📖

Rachmaninov2 profile image
Rachmaninov2 in reply toActivity2004

I didn’t keep them, with a lot of books once I have read them if I think I won’t read them again I give them to a charity shop.

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004 in reply toRachmaninov2

That’s a nice idea! I have a few books that I may donate to a library after the virus and lockdown ends.😀👍🌈

They don’t make very much money, second hand books don’t cost very much. I hope you do decide to donate to a library Leah, perhaps it would give some people the chance to read a book that they may not be able to afford to buy.

I will have to see what happens when the time comes in the next few weeks from now.😀👍🌈

Just got done with my dinner now. Glad you’re having a better evening tonight.😀👍🌈

aw.. i'm starting to just think about dinner... :)

so i must ask - how did bunny get her name?

i have 3 fur monsters of my own... 2 boys and a girl - all siblings... rescued as kittens... omg - what fun they were as kittens!!! now the boys are BIG... each >20 lbs - and very little fat... just big dudes!

it's really funny how many small dogs there are these days - my female outweighs so many little dogs - and my boys could just sit on 1 and crush it! :-)

Activity2004 in reply to13ga

Bunny had her name when she was adopted by me and my parents. She was in a no kill shelter. She was a mom to 6 kittens in 2012– August.

What do you want for dinner tonight?😀👍🌈

I had Mexican food tonight.😀👍🌈

13ga profile image
13ga in reply toActivity2004

ahhh that's so nice! i volunteer @ a no kill animal shelter... they've got >100 cats; probably start accepting dogs late this year... need more help to support the dogs...

it's nice that you kept her name!

.

mmm mexican - yum!

i had indian - veggie somosas and dal mahkani with garlic naan.... MMMM serious yum!

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004 in reply to13ga

We have Indian food at least once a week for dinner.😀👍👍🌈

Yes, we kept her name because she was 1.5 years old when she was adopted. The shelter is 10 minutes from my house. It’s a cat only shelter.

How long have you been a Volunteer for the shelter?😀👍🌈

13ga profile image
13ga in reply toActivity2004

wow no kidding! another cat only shelter! so cool!

i've been volunteering since late oct. and absolutely love it!

not only are the cats awesome - sooo many - and soo happy to get attention! but i've also found other animal lovers - and discovered that every animal lover i meet turns out to be a decent caring person!

so that's my new red flag indicator and #1 interview question for any potential friend !! 8-)
