Hi Oscar, When my husband was alive he suffered greatly with this unpleasant bowel condition. His symptoms fluctuated between having bouts of constipation but mostly loose bowels which often prevented him from going out for trips in case he needed the toilet. I cant remember him going off his food but when he had a really bad bout and had to take antibiotics he would go off his food until over it.During a bad attack eat low fibre food but avoid caffeine, spicy food, Chocolate and milk products. Then when your condition eases, gradually go on to a highfibre diet.

Factors that increase the risk of developing diverticulitis disease include......ageing ,obesity, smoking, lack of exercise, a diet high in animal fat and low in fibre, also some medication can contribute. Ask your doctor to give you a diet sheet to help you. Hope this helps.

Hi Oscar091, This is just by way of offering my sympathy for your being so uncomfortable. But no further advice to offer as Jerry and Roadrunner44 have both offered it so well! 🙏
