Woken up to an email from Boots stating that my prescription has been cancelled for one of these reasons

GP hadn't approved it within 48hrs

I need a review

Not yet due

But my patient access page says it was approved 16 April, so now going to try to get hold of a GP

Good luck getting your meds. Maybe the review was due and you wasn't aware of it. But good luck in getting your meds

That happened to me once the surgery had refused to issue a prescription as a review was due and I hadn't even been told about it and the pharmacist had rung the surgery and had told them they were to issue it and the surgery had backed down and said OK just this once and then a review so I got my medication eventually but after that incident I ended up changing surgeries and my current one are really good and can't do enough for me.

With respect the communication and organisation in the health service leaves a lot to be desired!

When you phone the surgery tell them what has happened and you need your medication as a matter or urgency. Hopefully they will be able to sort it out today for you. ☺☺

With me the pharmacist had phoned the surgery and had requested that they give it to me and they said yes they would just that time but after that I needed a review.

If they had put a note on asking me to ring them to sort out a review before they did that I would have done so no problems.

I've spoken to the surgery and they can't see any problem and Boots haven't contacted them, rung Boots, phone been ringing now for 30 minutes, no little voice saying how long I'll need to wait

Hi Jennymary, I posted before I had seen your update. Sorry about that but I see the problem is ongoing. I'd say be persistent with your call to Boots. Just keep on trying. I find when I do that, eventually someone eventually gets fed up with the phone ringing. Good luck. 🙏

Oh gosh Jennymary, is this the medication you were waiting for so patiently. That is bad news. Good luck with getting hold of someone who can sort this out for you. Hopefully an efficient call receptionist at your GP surgery might be able to do this quickly for you, as it looks like an admin error. So annoying. I hope the rest of your day goes better. 🙏

Oh no, that's not good at all. I hope you manage to get through to them and sort it out as they do have a duty of care. Just to let you know, this happened to a friend of mine last week who's on morphine tablets for severe back pain and Boots wouldn't give her the medication. My friend was very upset and contacted the doctors' surgery as she was in immense pain and the doctor then contacted Boots and got it sorted.

Yes, this is for the meds I ordered 4 April, GP practice can't see a problem and approved it 16 April and haven't heard anything from Boots, advised me to ring them, now been waiting 1hr 13minutes for someone to pick up the phone

Also meant to say that Boots are probably being over cautious during this pandemic and a call from your doctor to Boots will work.
