I was ready to go off to the gym today as the weather isn't good but unfortunately am unable to. I was all dressed and ready but didn't feel well, I have nausea again and I have been fairly light headed for a few days now.
I spent a good deal of time this morning looking on the internet to see if probiotics could make me feel poorly, I know they can in the first few days but I've been taking them for around 10 weeks now. I also checked to see if there was any kind of interaction between Nettle capsules which I'm also taking and the probiotics but there isn't.
I've been thinking all week that it's the IBS but now I know otherwise. I don't know what made me do it but I tested my blood pressure and it was 171 over 84, that's so high for me, I'm normally around 110 over 54. I've got a doctor's appointment at 12:00 today.
I looked on the internet and you can suffer with nausea and light headiness with high blood pressure and that's what I've been getting.
Thank you. I've now been to the doctors and she is going to carry out a 24 hour blood pressure check, blood tests and an ECG. My appointments are on 2, 3 and 9 November. How on earth I have high blood pressure I'll never know.
Well praying you get to the bottom of this as a sudden high rise in your blood pressure is really odd Alicia! See how you go but please don't panic, keep calm!
As a fit person your blood pressure shouldn't be that high! Just for a week or 2 may be leave these nettle tablets out, it might changes and then check your blood pressure daily after your initial 24 hours are over! Must admit I am mystified π
Oh cf, I hope all will be well - I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well and yes, high BP can do things like that. All the best and keep us informed won't you. π€ π xx
Thank you and I kind of put together low blood pressure and light headiness, I've had low or normal blood pressure all my life so to see that I had a high reading I was very surprised.
I will definitely keep you informed and I've been to the docs and she is doing blood tests, EGC and I'll have to wear a blood pressure cuff for 24 hours to monitor my blood pressure, the appointments are on 2, 3 and 9 November.
I'm glad you got to see the GP quickly. All the best for your appointments and your ambulatory bp readings. Try not to worry as that will raise your BP (easier said than done I know) - it's a vicious circle. Take care. xx
I'm so fortunate with my GP practice, they are very good. Funny thing is I'm not actually worried, more frustrated. If I can keep the nausea at bay which at present I'm fine, then I'll be happy.
Thank you. Docs went well and I now have a few tests to undertake starting from next Monday.

Sorry to hear this Crazyfitness have you been coping with any extra stress? I believe that can cause our blood pressure to change, I hope the Dr. can give you some answers xx

We are having work done on the house at the moment but it's definitely not stressing me out at all. I do have a daughter with mental health issues, she's Bipolar, and that has stressed me out at times as she's not easy to talk to. I've been going to the gym and was rather surprised to see such a high number. The doctor was very good and I'm going to have an ECG at the doctors along with blood tests plus I'll have to wear a blood pressure cuff for 24 hours.
Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. The doctor is going to monitor my blood pressure for 24 hours by asking me to wear a blood pressure cuff for 24 hours, I'm having blood tests next week and then I'm going to have an ECG, all of this being carried out at my local doctors which is good.

Glad your getting sorted what a worry though and frustrating for you with you been so active usually. You need to keep yourself calm and do some deep breathing and try and get interested in TV tonight I know stress can raise it I hope you get a good night's sleep hugs off me and pixie ππ

Thank you and the sooner the better and it is frustrating but I do count myself as fortunate. Can't wait to go back to the gym and be full of energy. I'm fine watching TV and I've a book to read that my friend has lent to me so I'll have a look at that.
Thank you and hugs back to you and pixie.πΉπππ
You are such an active person Alicia, you also eat healthily, so Just as well you checked your blood pressure and found it high. Do you suffer from high blood pressure generally and if so is it controlled by medication? Hope your doctor can help find out why you have these symptoms and sort out the problem. Hope you feel better soon.
I do like to keep active and when I checked my blood pressure this morning it floored me, I've never had high blood pressure so I don't take any kind of medication. The doctor has provided me appointments for a 24 hour blood pressure check where I'll have to wear a monitor for 24 hours, blood tests and an ECG so she's being very thorough which is good.
It's frustrating as I can just go to the gym, workout and then feel so much better but I can't risk that at the moment. My dad had a heart attack many years ago when he was in his 70's, he would have been 107 now had he lived and my mum died from an Aortic aneurysm suddenly when she was 83. My mum was also very active.
At least you are aware it was out of the ordinary for you Alicia but these sort of things can take us by surprise sometimes. Your doctor is taking things seriously though so thankfully you are sensible and taking it easy. It will be hard on you I would think being so energetic and not able to go on your bike or take long walks. Its not for long I'm sure and hopefully you will be back on your bike within no time. Let me know how you get on. Take care.
Sorry to hear you are not feeling so well Alicia, blood pressure can make you have symptoms but also if you are unwell, this can cause your blood pressure to become elevated. Non the less, your GP should monitor it for the next few weeks in case you need any treatment for it. I do hope you are feeling better soon. πππΈ
Thank you Bobby. It wasn't until the doctor asked about my family history that I remembered my dad had a major heart attack when he was around 76/78 and my mum died suddenly of an aortic aneurysm, she was 83.
I know Ali, me, I couldn't believe it when I saw the reading this morning, glad we have our own monitor.
Yes the doctor was very good and is being thorough.
Hope you're enjoying your doggy walks.ππΆ

Thank you Jerry, it's strange for me as I've always had a very healthy blood pressure.πππ
Hi Jerry, thank you so much for your reply. I didn't know that. The Dermatologist said it was Senile Prutitis but I'm not convinced as firstly he didn't even want to look at my skin and secondly he ignored the biopsy results which said I had thickening of the skin.
Thank you, I'm not particularly worried, just want the nausea and light headiness to go so I can go to the gym. You know meπππ.
