I tend to shop a lot, now that I do it online. Once upon a time, I would think I “needed” something, but by the time I got to the shops I had forgotten all about it. Now, it is more or less instant. Buying on a whim is just far too easy.
All from the comfort of our own armchairs and you don’t even need to look in your purse to see if you have enough money before you get to the checkout!
Impulse buying's really common Afrohair, and even if you are well able to afford a purchase, when you know it was a frivolous one, you tend to feel quite guilty afterwards, for sure. I think we all do it to some extent or another, and I bet there are more people than usual doing it right now, when the Covid19 effect is making us look everywhere for something that will make us feel better.
It can help if you really examine how you feel when you make that purchase and how you feel afterwards. There's the wanting, because you believe that whatever it is will make you feel better, a few minutes of happiness at having the thing, and then a feeling of dissatisfaction again, especially if it was an impulse buy and not something you've hankered after for years and saved to buy. If you can just call those feelings to mind before you buy, it can stop you even doing it! Well.... sometimes anyway! 😄
