Greggs have stopped making meat and potato pasties, so I have decided to make my own. Homemade puff pastry and filling

They look really great! Way to go! They sound really good! How many can be cooked?😀👍🌈
yum
Wow, they look great. 👍😊
Yummy, they look good - any idea why Greggs aren't making meat and potato pasties any more?
More than likely it's because they are making a loss on them as not so many people are buying them.
Ah right, thanks cat. x
Greggs stopped making them because they weren't selling enough. Obviously they looking at the pound signs rather than running a service. When I used to call for a meat & potato pasty, I always bought something else, I am one of thousands of customers who have stopped buying anything from Greggs. They are being greedy IMHO
Good morning they look amazing that's s real skill you have not everyone can get puff pastry just right I remember them Gregg's pies I used to like chicken ones, and vanilla slices maby you could try doing some of them if you have lots of time to pass, we only use oil to make pastry, as unfortunetely we can't eat butter, and we tried to make puff it was a disaster lol, enjoy 🥟
They look delicious, and the beauty of home-made is that you know what’s in them. No nasty additives.
Well done, i’m going to make.
They look wonderful, my mouth is watering. My Mum was a very plain cook, not great but her pastry was wonderful. Her meat and potato pie was a treat. She cooked the meat first, always shin beef with onions, then put the potatoes in the pie with gravy, a shortcrust top on and baked. So really it was a potato pie with meat on the side, a childhood favourite..
I can remember just once when it was bettered. My husband and I were on holiday in my native Yorkshire and went into a pub in Robinhoods Bay. It was midmorning and they were writing up the lunch time menu on a board. It featured Meat and Potato pie, and we were told it was very popular and sold out quickly but we could order ours and come back for lunch. We did and I remember it being delicious.
Had it recently in an English bar here in Spain, It was tasty but I was disappointed, not a Yorkshire meat and tattie pie.
They look delicious and are probably even better than the Greggs version, being home made! Enjoy!
Ooh they look delicious.
