It certainly is, I have wondered if we'll get to a stage when we have to make an appointment where we can book all are pre bookable appts for the month (hope this makes sense)

I got a message to review my chronic diseases, I've never had that before and I've had chronic diseases for 5 years. Very strange. 🤔😁

Who knows bobbybob. Maybe it’s connected to Halloween!

That's hilarious, I'm laughing so much now. It must be something to do with Mars being so visible at the moment. 😁👍

Yes I had a much more in depth consult phone call... I think there must be a new directive to make sure that they are looking after long term conditions... Which is good x

I agree it is strange how quickly normal can become abnormal so quickly Life can carry on where everything is spot on as we are enjoying life in general and all of a sudden we are performing actions in life that are strange and unexpected.

Can’t pick up any of your replies. Screen shows the blurb on doctors and I can’t get rid of it.

Absolutely true, Spinner1916. Trending now ... In my big bag carries face masks, latex gloves, hand sanitizer and hand lotion (to combat the effects of the sanitizer and incessant hand washing) with us at all times. Lipstick is out of fashion😭

Gillyflower18 profile image
Gillyflower18 in reply tocindyching

Where I work hand washing is difficult so I go thru a heck of a lot of hand sanitizer. Keep gloves in car for gas stops and more hand sanitizer for emergencies.

Don’t forget to moisturize your hands at night.

I actually bought some lipstick a while ago and then suddenly wondered why 😊. I think I've only worn makeup once since February!

Gillyflower18 profile image
Gillyflower18 in reply toMadBunny

I know. What’s the point of makeup when no one sees it.

MadBunny profile image
MadBunny in reply toGillyflower18

Yep. And I've only had 2 haircuts this year whereas I used to have them every 5-6 weeks as my hair's short and layered. I did start to wear some of my 'nicer' clothes though to help keep my spirits up.

Yes I thought why keep clothes for best and going out when not going out!! So wearing what ever I fancy when I fancy

Pandemic beauty means we can skip the lipstick and hide under the mask, yes?

I carry all the safety stuff plus asthma spray, 3 pairs of glasses, phone, tissues and assorted junk, maybe a small suitcase in future?

It certainly is. If someone had told us a year ago that this was going to happen we would have thought they were mad.

Agreed, highlight of my fashion wardrobe is getting a new mask(through the post).

I have taken de-clutter to the highest degree.

Have offloaded half of my extensive wardrobe to any one who wanted, charities, friends, family.

I have sold my car through my letterbox to-a local garage, money in the bank by transfer following day,

I am currently discarding 40 years of antiques collected from many places by using e bay, local antique centre by e mail, a d family

Thought this would be hard but is actually therapeutic,

Lots of plain walls and empty space to chill out in.

I started off doing a lot of decluttering, cleaning the house etc but as time's gone on I've got bored with it.

I realisedI have spent at least 45 years polishing the same items, must be mad so out they go.

We've got a collection of those ceramic cottages- David Winter ones I think . Well here really hubby's. We must have spent hours over the last 30+ yes dusting them. He keeps talking about getting rid. They don't have any sentimental value do maybe one of these days I might just get a box......

I agree! You actually iron your masks! That’s pretty ambitious. 😳 I’m happy to just get mine washed

Gillyflower18 profile image
Gillyflower18 in reply toSkylane2

They get so wrinkled they don’t fit well. I don’t mind I’ve always liked to iron. I know I know I’m strange !🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

ArctoLindy profile image
ArctoLindy in reply toGillyflower18

I iron my masks too, I figure the heat from the iron helps to finish off anything that survives a good washing. I have a couple of new masks lined up... one with Halloween fabric for the end of the month and a poppy one ready for November. Just need to dig out my Christmas fabric next.

Have to say if someone had told me a year ago that it would be necessary to put on a face mask before entering a bank, I would have thought they were crazy!!! 😜😂🤣

Gillyflower18 profile image
Gillyflower18 in reply toArctoLindy

Never thought of the bank thing!🤣🤣🤣🤣 I got a good mask pattern online put out by Burda patterns. I modified it a bit but it works. Just made one with cat fabric and will make one for Christmas soon. I like to hand sew them. I can sit comfortably in my recliner and listen to music.

ArctoLindy profile image
ArctoLindy in reply toGillyflower18

I machine sew masks, also planning to make some Christmas bunting, always hand sew my teddies though.

Gillyflower18 profile image
Gillyflower18 in reply toArctoLindy

Help this American. Is a teddy a stuffed bear or lingerie? I used to hand sew lingerie and I’m thinking of doing it again.

ArctoLindy profile image
ArctoLindy in reply toGillyflower18

I guess it could be either but in my case I hand sew miniature teddy bears like the ones in my profile picture.

How cute! Bet they are good sellers at craft shows if we ever have craft shows again.

Will you come round to mine please I hate ironing

Gillyflower18 profile image
Gillyflower18 in reply toCraftyperson

I always found it rather like weeding. Your mind can be a million miles away and still get something done! Don’t have much of it to do anymore what with perma pressed fabric etc!

Craftyperson profile image
CraftypersonReading Rabbits in reply toGillyflower18

I do the least possible ironing, weeding ok but boy does it hurt my back!!

Kaitlinsmum profile image
Kaitlinsmum

You were ironing masks?!! Well done you. I only iron to order in our house now. And only do clothing.

On the weirdness issue- I was told I had to book an appointment to donate clothes at my local charity shop! I just stood there with my 2 bin bags full looking confused.

Gillyflower18 profile image
Gillyflower18 in reply toKaitlinsmum

It’s the same here. And they must be washed. I think it’s a safety issue right now.

Skylane2 profile image
Skylane2 in reply toKaitlinsmum

Huh! I guess that makes sense although In California ( in the states) the Salvation Army doesn’t mind. I think they must dry clean them, or do their own laundry 😊

Gillyflower18 profile image
Gillyflower18 in reply toSkylane2

I'm in Michigan. I guess I will check the salvation army here. I have 4 bags of stuff sitting in a closet I'd like to get rid of. I never thought of them. Thanks for the tip.

Sops profile image
Sops in reply toKaitlinsmum

Yeah, I had the same, I felt they were doing me a huge favour taking the one bag allowed. I have gone wild throwing things away and even included LK Bennett, breaks my heart but have been eating too much, baking etc....

Also put a huge sack out in a delivered charity bag, did not even collect it!

Mine get washed ,dried and unceremoniously stuffed in whichever handbag I am currently using.

You have put me to shame!

Greetings; Sister/warrior(s) . I was re-using my K95 mask, and spraying it with a light bleach solution, and hanging it to dry. :) Well after several uses, and spraying's the mask started to get weak, and limp looking :( . I thought let me lightly starch, and iron it :) . Well unbeknownst to me the mask was made of a safe, breathable polyester type fiber. Well suffice to say that mask melted, and was now destined for the trash heap :( . Cleaning off my iron was no fun either :( :( . I now have made cotton cloth covers to go over my new K95 masks, but still lightly spray the mask, and wash the covers so that I can re-use them longer. Yessssssss this is our new normal :| :| :| . I can LOL about it now :) , but I continue to pray for a solution to this pandemic.
