The government would say its household visiting that's causing the upsurge in covid because they can't afford to lose revenue by shutting pubs again, at the end of the day its the public who have to pay all this money back wen its finally over

They won't mate, it's a fact wen we had total lockdown across the country it worked, until they lifted the restrictions its come back
The government would say anything to try and deflect the blame away from themselves and on to the public! It's called spin.
Sorry. Got to disagree. It is person to person contact. Too many people not wearing masks, too many people not social distancing, too many people coming back of holiday and going to the shops and pubs instead of self isolating, too many people going to the pub while they are waiting for test results, too many young people partying...............etc.........
Too few tests, much too slow to react, much too slow to impose lockdown, govt employees breaking lockdown, lack of PPE's, cutting the NHS and other vital services to the bone in the last 10 years.....
Chickens and eggs hypercat. If people thought a little bit more about what they were doing, then not as many would be needing tests, test and trace would be working well and we wouldn’t be facing another lockdown . The government aren’t spreading it we are, but then we expect the government to step in and miraculously sort it all out.
No we expect our govt to be as aware of possible scenarios such as a pandemic as other countries and to do some preparation in advance. In 2016 they tested the ability of the NHS to cope and it failed miserably. Instead of taking steps to rectify it they ignored the advice such as stockpiling things like PPE's. They trusted to luck and it failed them. Now they try and deflect all the blame on to the public by blaming separate groups and setting us all against each. Divide and rule. It's the oldest political trick in the book.
I agree wholeheartedly with the first part of your statement hypercat. Dave the fave, his sidekicks and their totally unnecessary austerity cuts, which did a lot of harm not just to the nhs but to public services in general, not to mention throwing millions of people into poverty. Who would of thought we would reach the stage of having to have food banks in this country.
As for the current situation I think we will just have to agree to differ.
