Just a query.

Why are dry cleaners essential outlets and open in lockdown.?

Why Lidl filling shelves with toys when toy shops are closed?

I am sure they are not alone in this so am quoting them as an example.

Really do not understand these lockdown rules.

Good news, managed after 30 minutes on the phone and 15 on live-chat to retain my Sainsburys double up points until such time when i can go out and spend them.

Hi sops,

It might sound like a bit of a mystery, but I guess that staying clean and tidy is a priority. And especially for those people who are still required to go to work, like my husband who works in security and needs newly dry cleaned clothes regularly. He's been required to go to work throughout both lock-downs. Both uniformed and plain clothes police are also essential and many need to wear suits or professional mufti clothing to work every day. Your GP or consultant too also wear dry cleanable clothes in addition to PPE. And it's even more essential for all of us to be as clean and fresh as possible, as we fight the coronavirus on every surface around us.

it makes sense to me. the less shops that are open the less chance you have of passing on and getting the virus. if you go to a toy shop to buy toys and then go to the supermarket to buy food you have twice as much risk as you hve if you buy them both in same shop.

I have an osteopath appointment tomorrow.

This would count as "medical"... but would they count massage as medical?

Foot care for athlete's foot or toe fungus or trimming would be medical.

Are all the posh "nail bars" now only open for footcare for geriatrics and the disabled?

Thats a tricky one, I have never been to a nail bar, although they have loads in my town, massage is a very valuable service in my humble opinion. Hope your appointment works out!

I was going to acupuncture and they have closed down for now. Yet it is medical and run by a doctor.

Launderettes are open as well and its because they are in a similar category to them as you need to keep your clothes clean so that's why they are down as essential places to be open.
