From the photo it not only looks swollen it looks red also, so there could be something going on there, it will definitely need a medical opinion. Do you have a drop in centre you can go along to. Is your foot hot to the touch. ππΌ
It's very hot to touch & the ball of the foot is also red & sore to touch , the toes are the most painful & walking is a nightmare. If it's still like this tomorrow maybe I should go to A&E for advice as I am diabetic
I have just seen your other post, so, it is good you are on antibiotics, the GP must suspect some infection. If it is getting worse I would certainly ring them back for advice. ππ
Hi, I have to agree with the others. I had cellulitis/abscess in thigh in July and things worsened quickly. None of my GPs looked at the pics I took and by the time I went to hospital, the docs there couldn't believe I hadn't been sent before. I had been put on antibiotics too but the infection just got worse and worse. Maybe not that but with especially with you being diabetic, please don't hang around.
Take care x
I would certainly phone 111 who will most probably suggest a trip to A & E tonight tbh.
Being diabetic makes it too risky to watch and wait.
If you are worrying about the difference in length of your feet Ilovebunnies, there's no need to worry. This is very common and there are two remedies. Buy shoes which fit the larger, not the smaller foot and use some padding in the one which goes on the smaller foot.
If you are worried about the swelling and puffiness, then please do check with your GP surgery. There are several causes for this and your health provider can diagnose why this is happening. Meantime, until you can be seen, elevate your feet and legs as much as you can, and wear footwear and socks which will accommodate your feet and ankles comforably, or wear compression stockings, such as flight socks.
Addendum: I've just read that you are diabetic, so please get some professional help sooner rather than later. If you think you need A&E please ring ahead, as in most locations only dire emergencies will be seen and you are likely to be directed elsewhere.
So sorry to hear that this is so painful for you. I hope you can get some advice and relief soon.
It does look hot and swollen. As you are diabetic I would call 111. Good luck.
Do not risk it being a blood clot,go today.
