Lost another half a stone

I was down to my target weight before lockdown - but I have lost another half a stone (five and a half stone total).

I feel better lighter, so I have not been trying to keep up to my target weight... I just adjusted my target weight! I am 16% body-fat, my waist is inches less than half my height... and I still have a fat-free mass of 75kg!

Is tummy emptiness better for you than mindfulness? I am on the HU "Fasting and Furious" monthly fast - 20 hours into 72! See:

Are you all keeping (or getting) slim and fit?

LCHF is very effective, but it is easier to conform to, and more effective if done in combination with (Intermittent) Fasting:

Hi, Hidden .

"Fasting is good for you" tends to assume that everyone is overweight. I now have to get back up to my target weight before the monthly 72-hour fasts.

On methodology to get the benefits of fasting without too drastically reducing your energy intake might be a fast-mimicking diet.

Have you always been slim?

Do you eat LCHF?

Do you want to increase body-fat, muscle, or both?

I am now at my (revised) target weight - but I have experienced and studied weight-loss... so perhaps someone else could give us the benefit of their experience? You could ask on the "Healthy Eating" HU forum.

I would advocate a Low-Calorie, High-Fat (LCHF) diet... but it makes eating more calories difficult, particularly if you are trying to eat on a budget... see the LCHF HU forum.

Health food shops are full of products to help one gain weight - but I would not recommend any of them.

Exercise, especially weights, helps increase muscle.

If you want to increase muscle mass you should make sure you eat enough protien.

Well done. I did the 24 hour fast last month, well it was actually a 36 hour fast. I haven't done another one but I am hoping to get into some sort of regular routine with them. 👍

Kudo's to you :) YESSSSSS. Stay motivated. :) Before Covid-19 I was so active I was a lean looking fighting machine, but I could of used 5 pounds to look more curvaceous. After Covid-19 I was 10 lbs heavier, but more fat, than previous muscle ratio :( . The reasons being I wasn't dancing, roller skating, and I wasn't motivated to work out :( . Well I have no excuse since I have an exercise room with padded floors, wall mirrors, a weight bench, treadmill, stepper, and free weights. Well I am working out again, and redistributing my fat/muscle ratio. Though health is the #1 goal. The bonus, and the test for myself is, can I wear a two piece bathing suit without embarrassing myself ? :| . Well as of today the answer is yesssssss I can wear that 2 piece. I am just trying to stay motivated like you, and everybody else :).

I am glad you are getting back on track... I am sure you look great in your bikini!

Yes... I was thinking of doing the one mile ocean swim again this year... not just to look good in a swim suit, but as a challenge for one who is 71, and was disabled for five years!

My late wife was a dancer (she had a ballet, tap and gymasstics school) and thought she looked boney... she used hand weights to try to make her chest less boney.

Wow If your healthy enough do the swim challenge. I need to learn to swim. My girlfriend teach's ballet to children, and modern dance. She had a long career as a ballet, and modern dancer. I think she is too thin, :| but like a lot of models. and dancers she eats vegetables, and drinks sugar free coffee, and will eat a little grilled chicken :| , or fish. Her beau is a great cook, but she will eat his food like a bird :| .
