Today was spent doing more prep and getting ready for the next round of lightning.
More radio and equipment work. Everything is ship shape now. One failed part can cause disaster but I feel good about what has been accomplished.
My wife even had time to cut the fire chiefs hair. At he will look good while on the fire line.
We have fire fighter crews form CalFire, Oregon, and Canada standing by our area tonight to help instead of simply local volunteers. The volunteers do a great job but they can’t do everything with limited numbers.
Australian fire fighters are on their way to help out. I sure hope we can return the favor when needed but would prefer a simple pot luck barbecue social get together when there is nothing to worry about. That would be much better.

It’s great to see you are keeping your spirits up. The chief must be made up with his new hair do. I had heard that on the news yesterday about the fire crews from Canada and Australia coming to give a hand. It must be such a relief for you all as you all must be worn out by now. I am glad more help has arrived for your community. It’s on the news every night here. You all take care. 😊🌈

Great that you've got extra help standing by. We heard about the ffs on their way from Oz too. It would be good if they could bring some of that snow they're having in NSW with them. Thinking of you all, stay safe. 🙏 xx

Checked the world news just now! This is really horrific in your state Daveh! Please stay safe! 🙏 And glad you will get more support now from other firefighters and aid from Trump! How come you have such hot and dry summers lately! It was bad last year in California as well! These wild fires are especially bad this year! Got 2 Facebook friends living near Fresno!

You all sound well prepared and I bet your wife was surprised she even had time to cut the fireman's hair.
You certainly have a lot of people standing by but agree with you that you'd rather meet up for a barbecue then return the favour, no-one wants others going through what you are.
