The answer to that is, I don’t know, it is a suggestion to you to have a look to see if any new technologies are developing in the quest to help those who suffer with anxieties and depression. 😊

Read an interesting article about tree bathing which has been practised in Japan for a while.

Limited study evidence available but what there is sounds worth exploring to reduce BP aid mental health ,heart disease etc.

I can understand that you long for relief from your long-term depression jain88, but there are a couple of things to consider here.

One is that it's unlikely that an app, developed by a non mental health specialist, is likely to come up with a blanket solution for depression.

Secondly, an app requires the depressed person to interact with it, and that's not usually effective for someone with true clinical depression. It's only a lightweight aid.

As I'm sure you'll have noticed, depression is energy sapping.

I truly believe that the best treatment for depression is recognising that it is a lifelong condition which sometimes is better and sometimes worse and that like so many other illnesses it has to be managed, not cured.

And the way to manage it is to interact closely with mental health professionals, to try all the treatments they suggest, but to recognise that, just like cancer, or heart failure (for example), you have to live with it and try to fight it, every day.

I had a Mum with severe mental health issues and my sister suffers too . They needed to be busy - less time to think , boredom gave them sleep issues despite medication which tended to cause sleepiness . Answer for them and many others like full time work is a timetable .

Typical day = Get up , breakfast , dressed by 9,30 am then time for housework , TV , reading ,on line puzzles and surveys . Lunch at 12.30 then aim to get out every afternoon - shopping , swimming , library then evening meal around 6pm and aim for 3 balanced meals per day . My sister does vol work 2 days a week but hasn't since March but sticks to simple timetable which structures her life . She learns Spanish on line via a free channel plus You Tube and will join a class when she can and rejoin her twice weekly walking group .

She gave up work aged 53 and now 64 she manages her life by being as busy as she used to do when she was working .

Hi jain88, I appreciate what you are putting across in your post, but personally find modern technology adds more problems if you can't use it correctly making in my case me feel more useless which does not help moral. What I mean is we are all different and need to do what is best for ourselves , depression can be long term in many people and require change as time goes by. It is merely a health word does not explain how many people actually feel with such an illness. The way one reacts is often part of the illness which makes it difficult to change . Do keep seeking a way to live with your illness that makes it bearable for you.
