I have been suffering with anxiety for a long time, just brushing it under the carpet and telling myself to keep going since the lockdown it's become increasingly worse and I have started seeing a counsellor. I have restarted couch to 5k to try and improve both my physical and mental health does anyone have any advice on staying motivated
Thanks

Well done for restarting the 5k. I think motivation is a personal thing but if I'm going to do anything physical I'd have to do it straight after breakfast and then I keep going for the rest of the day. If I start off slugglish its hard to shift up a gear until I go and have a walk. Eating healthily is going to be a motivation to exercise. Exercise in turn helps the anxiety and so does a healthy diet free from caffeine and sugar. Also a hobby that takes your mind away from your thoughts as anxiety can become a habit. π
Be kind to yourself, if you slip up don't feel like a failure and just start where you can. Take it slowly and always be careful to warm up and cool down. Good luck!
yes. The best thing you can do to fight your anxiety is to stand up for your self and do what it takes to keep your self calm and happy. Please don't let it overwhelm you
Really well done for trying to find a route out of your lockdown anxiety yourself. And that little quotation says an awful lot in a few words! It's absolutely true. Very best wishes and best of luck with your couch to 5k! ππ
Hello littlepurplestar , sorry you've been feeling like this. But look at the steps you've taken to help yourself. Counsellor help can be really good and getting back to c25k is another great start.
I started c25k on 1/10/18 and what I found to motivate me was to pick 3 days per week and stick to them come rain hail or shine so no excuses. Make sure you keep posting and reading other posts as I also found that motivating.
The mental and physical health benefits are amazing . Good luck ππ
