A lovely day with the grandaughters

β€’22 Replies

We had the grandaughters overnight and they were as good as gold. We went to the park this morning and then to our local National Trust garden this afternoon.

This morning our youngest granddaughter decided to climb to the very top of the climbing tower, no fear whatsoever and she's only 4. She has JIA (Juvenile idiopathic Arthritis) and I'm pretty sure it makes her more feisty.

Hope you've all had a good day.

Alicia 😊🌈

Hi

I'm so pleased you had a good day. Treasure those moments with them. Yes, she does seem feisty doesn't she. I do think when children are diagnosed with something they cope so well and yes, makes them more feisty. I love your photos, they are brilliant! I know when Ian was diagnosed with Crohn's aged 12 , he coped so well but he would also get annoyed with other kids his age who had just been off with a cold because to him a cold is nothing especially compared with how poorly it has made him over the years. Thank goodness he is in remission and has been for some time , this is only because he is on immunosuppressants, vit d and infliximab infusions.

Sorry for going on.

Love and hugs Lynne xxxx β€οΈπŸ€—πŸŒˆπŸ’œ

Thank you Lynne and I certainly will.

Your son is awesome, children cope so well with illnesses/conditions. I agree a normal cold is a cold and that's it and some people really do play on it. What I mean by a normal cold is those that don't have underlying respiratory conditions. Crohn's disease is an awful condition but I'm so pleased the immunosuppressants have worked so well alongside the infusions and vitamin D. Our granddaughter is on Methotrexate, Humira and Folic Acid, it was the Humira so turned the disease around.

Here's to your son staying in remission.

Take care xxxxπŸŒˆπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Beautiful photographs. What a brave little girl reaching the top, no fear. Young children with chronic conditions, I think adapt far greater than adults. My granddaughter has Tylosis Palmaris. In a flare, her hands and feet blister and bleed and the skin comes away. It’s rare and no cure. She is under the children’s hospital but has to go to an adult hospital to see the geneticist. Because she was born with the condition she is adapting as she is growing. As grandparents we wish we could take these things away from them and have them ourselves to save them from it. They are amazing the way the accept their conditions at such a tender age. 😊🌸🌷

Thank you Bobby.

Children with conditions do seem to be more feisty and have no fear.

Oh my goodness, that must be so painful for your granddaughter, I've never heard of Tylosis Palmaris, what an amazing little girl. I'm with you, I'd rather have the condition and let my granddaughter live a free and easy life.

They really are amazing.πŸŒˆπŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸŒΌ

You're welcome, it's so lovely having such beautiful memories.

Yes when they reach 16 they have other things to do, see their friends, go out with them, have hobbies. What's lovely though is when they are older they still want to see you. Our great nieces still want to see my sister in law even though they are 16 and 21, even the 21 year old wants to see his grandma. We had good news a while ago as my sister in law is about to be a great grandma, so lovely. I bet your granddaughter loves her grandparents to bits.

Families to cherish.

Hope you've had a lovely day.

Yes I’m sure she does as I do her. It’s just a little sad that we don’t to see her much. Time flies so fast.

I do so much enjoy the time I do get to have with her and her Mother and our other daughter. We have such a small family that we miss each other tremendously ......

Keep sending those beautiful pics. I enjoy!! πŸ€—

It really is, one minute they are this little toddler and before you know it they have grown into independent children/teenagers.

What's lovely though is you sound like a very close family which is so lovely.

Yes I'll keep posting.πŸ€—πŸŒΌπŸ™πŸ˜ŠπŸŒˆ
