The hedgerows in west Wales have this year been lush with foxgloves. Being intimidated by their complexity, I waited until they have almost all run to seed before daring to paint one. I think as plants they are gorgeous -- their name is so evocative. However, I know they are also extremely poisonous. Hence the name of this painting, completed today.

Very pretty π
Very lovely! ππΈ
That's very good.
Beautiful. I grow them and they're one of my favourite flowers.
Amazing, I think this has to be my favorite so far, I really love it. π
Lost in admiration π
Yes, foxgloves are absolutely beautiful Brent_Wilson and you've done an excellent job here! I can understand your reticence to start though. They are complex. A good description, 'wicked beauty', even though the poisonous bit is still useful to man, used in the right way!ππΈπ
I had to do a double take! Painting? Photo? You have captured it beautifully! My favourite so far as well! xx
The water colors, and composition are beautiful. My girlfriends daughter who is an adult loves purple, and shades of purple. When she was younger she wanted everything in purple, and purplish tones. That meant purple shades of dresses, pants, and footwear, which was hard to find years ago especially since her mom was on a limited budget. She would probably spend her last money to purchase this to put on her wall. Keep posting these beautiful pictures.
To my amazement, RLN-overcomer, four of my paintings have sold since I started at the beginning of lockdown. At least that has helped me afford some paintings books and paper!
