Very nice! What will you plant?

in reply to Ghounds

Whatever seeds you can plant this time if year and I know French beans and carrots are one, can't wait.

Lettuce and radishes should be good too. You probably have time for beetroot but they might be small. Enjoy!

in reply to Ghounds

Thank you, I'll probably look at the Autumn vegetables as my hubby has another 2 to make.πŸ™πŸ™

This looks really beautiful! Thank you for sharing it with us. It reminds me of a doll sized cradle I was given when I was a little girl.πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŒˆπŸ‘ŒπŸ™

in reply to Activity2004

Thank you Leah, he's done a grand job and at present is going to make me 3 more, I might even ask for more if they'll fit in the gardenπŸ˜‰. Now that would have been what I call a proper dolls cradle you had, not plastic πŸ›Œ

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004 in reply to

That's right! To this day, I still have the cradle. Plastic would have broken.

Yes, having more than the upcoming 3 sounds like a great idea. How long do they all take to do? :-)

in reply to Activity2004

Aww that's so lovely you still have it Leah.

He's started to make another today and he's only got the base to do and then to treat the wood so they are quick to make.πŸ˜ŠπŸŒˆπŸ™

Lucky you. Will you be the gardener crazy? The Outcome....... He made the trough, you sow the seeds/plants, You both eat the food! A win, win situation!

. Don't forget to show us what you grow.

Xxx

in reply to RoadRunner44

Yes it'll be me doing the sowing and eating as I'm the veggie eater, our diets are very different, the more veg I can have the better xxπŸ₯’πŸ†πŸ₯•πŸ₯”

Out of interest Alicia, how old is your bike? As you use it most days it must get a lot of wear and tear. Do you maintain it yourself?

Xxx

in reply to RoadRunner44

I only got the one I have now last year. I gave it a good clean yesterday and put some WD 40 on the chain.

Where I bought the bike carry out the service but I want to learn how to do this myself.

It would be very useful if you could learn how to do it yourself (helped by your lov ing husband maybe). It would save a bit of cash too I suspect!

Cheers, and goodnight. Xxx

in reply to RoadRunner44

It really would and that's my plan. Hubby's very helpful.

Good night to you as well xx

Yes, he's done a really professional job of it, very nice. They look a nice size. It will be fun growing a variety of veg in them. Have you decided what to grow in them yet. 😊🌼🌻

in reply to bobbybobb

Thank you Bobby, I'm very pleased with it. I'm going to look up to see what you can grow this time of year but I know French beans and carrots are two of them xxπŸ₯•πŸ†πŸ₯’πŸ₯•

Thank you Lynne, he loves making things, he made our garden shed a couple of years ago. Isn't it good we have very resourceful hubbies.

I've done that before, written something and not pressed send.

It looks very handsome. I found mine last longer if they have some drainage holes in the bottom under a layer of gravel and they are standing off the ground on a few bricks.

Elizabeth.

in reply to Sierrastar

Thank you Elizabeth and also for the excellent tip. He's made drainage holes so I'll pick up some gravel as well.

That looks really nice. It is good to have DIY in the family. My son has made some for me and my husband made me two tall ones out of an old barbecue. It looks amazing. What are you going to grow in it? I have lettuce and spring onions in one and going to plant radish and beetroot in the others. x

in reply to Sheila_G

Thank you Sheila and yes it's very handy, there's one thing my hubby doesn't do and that's plumbing, he does everything else. He made our garden shed from scratch, built the patio etc.

Both your husband and son sound very resourceful and clever, well done to them.

I'm looking at French beans and carrots and whatever else you can grow this time of year. Now beetroot, definitely one of them as I love it.

Looks Great, I’ve been thinking about growing a herb garden, tired of buying herbs that don’t last long

in reply to Want2BHappy3

Thank you and that would be a very good way to grow your own herb garden, the herbs in the shops don't last long at all, I tend to freeze them.

Aww thank you, he really enjoys making anything out of wood :)
