The other day I came across a "fashion" photograph on my hard disc... and wondered if it would be appropriate to post it here?

There was a post today entitled, I think "A follower of fashion", with a photograph of a young lady, but the post was "not there" a few minutes later... perhaps the poster removed it as she had decided not to identify herself?

Now I have come across a post and long thread about "Make-up", so I have attached the photo.

Can I claim credit for the photo? I took the photo, but I did not know or hire the (professional) model, or even own the camera or lens I used, or set up the lighting system. It was on camera manufacture's a show stand at the NEC... I did buy a camera and lens of the same type.

In international photography, the photographer owns the creative property. The ones times this would not be the case is when under a government contract of sorts. Professional models understand their pictures are not truly them, but a captured form of them since the photographers alters the ISO, lens, etc. Even if the camera was from a tradeshow, the image is still yours. Think of it as receiving a food sample at the grocery store. Once you swallow the contents, it is now a part of you.

I think the law used to be that the photograph was the property of whoever owned the film when it was exposed.
