Hi! So, about two times a week I have nights where I just can’t sleep. I’m tossing and turning, my whole body has a weird feeling it’s so hard to explain. I know this isn’t much information but does anyone have any advice!?

Happens to my wife but she is of that age in her mid fifties to explain it.
I toss and turn at night as well! But I have always been that way. Do you think it’s because you have a lot on your mind? I find doing mindfulness helps. Try looking into the headspace app
Thank you!
I used to have a glass of wine in the evening thinking it was helping me sleep but when I stopped having it I slept much better. Anxiety keeps you awake at night do you think you may have anxiety?
I think I have anxiety really bad but I don’t know how to deal with it? A lot of people tell me to exercise which I already do as I do boxing! But my mind runs wild at night then as I start drifting off I feel like I can’t breath.
I understand. I had generalised anxiety disorder about 15 years ago and the way I dealt with it was guided meditation. Although I had not meditated before. I found one I really relaxed to and stuck with it but I did it about 3 times a day. Now I get anxiety occasionally. I try to tell myself that the thoughts are irrational and in the morning I won’t feel like this, sometimes that works.
I did a course on anxiety and the bottom line is Exercise, meditation and a hobby that you can really get in to. Avoid alcohol and caffeine and sugar.
Anxiety likes attention so the more you think about and talk about it the bigger it gets and when you ignore it (not easy) it goes away.
I hope some of this helps you like it did me. Anxiety really is awful and debilitating Until you find a way to cope and then it goes away. Meditation seems to reset everything and then it starts to build again and then you meditate to reset everything again that’s how I got through the day. Luckily I wasn’t working at the time x
(This is also an interesting clip of information that might help you..
Cognitive theory has explained anxiety as the tendency to overestimate the potential for danger. Patients with anxiety disorder tend to imagine the worst possible scenario and avoid situations they think are dangerous,
Maybe if you can see yourself in the above paragraph you can relate to the fact that maybe you do jump to the worst case scenario or imagine the worst. I know that is something I have to keep a lid on and when you recognise that you’re like that then it helps to think, actually I’ve jumped to the worst thing that can happen again and that’s what I do and it probably won’t happen as 99% of the time the things we worry about don’t).
Agoodenough, wow that’s an amazing insight on how to live with anxiety! I was thinking about trying meditation but I’m not sure where to start or how to learn?! I bought a couple of books but I haven’t started them yet. Thank you so much for your reply ☺️💕x
Also, alcohol keeps you awake at night too as I found out a few years ago. x
Same here. I found that out at the beginning of the lockdown and I was only having one glass!
Hi there, I found using a lavender spray on my pillow helps ( Called: This Really Works) and listening to a meditation story from my phone. The distractions from smell and sound somehow help. I’ve also heard that eating a couple of kiwi fruits have a relaxing effect.
Hope you get some good sleep soon
Love Denise xxxxx
I haven’t been to the doctors no! Medication is the last result for me! Thank you though x
I use the AutoSleep App.
It advises be when is that latest time I can get to bed, so I rarely go to bed before midnight.
Last night I got to bed a 02:35, and it tells me I in "in credit" and do not need to get to sleep before 01:56 tomorrow morning. It works for me.
