Why Leicester?

The BBC website indicates that there were quite a number of Covid -19 deaths in the Leicester area (particularly in South-West Leicester) in May, so this is not just a recent problem.

If Herd Immunity was not working, we would be seeing flare-ups in all the areas where there were BLM demonstrations.

There is no coast in Leicester - and no tourist attraction that I know about.

Places like London, which had a large number of cases early in the pandemic, now seem to have herd immunity - perhaps Leicester is just catching up?

The guy who fronts the WHO, Tedros Adhanom, said this morning on TV that the worse is yet to come. What a chilling thought.

In the Spanish flu pandemic, countries that were hit hard with the first wave were not hard hit by the second or third waves.

Unless of course it is going to flare up again. I hope not.

I’m glad, but unfortunately it’s so BAD here in the USA that we’ve been band from Europe. I don’t blame them. There is such a divide here because the president Here doesn’t believe it’s a problem 😷. So people who like him believe everything he says. And won’t cooperate, So now we have it the Worse in the World 🌎🙏😷

Hi everyone..hope your all doing ok..i live in Leicester..i hope our lockdown is for a couple of weeks..prior to this.. it was good to see some normality..really stressful for everyone.but we can get through this..I find the news reports really scary..so I dont watch anymore..i make sure i get all the information i need.bide by the rules watching one news update per day...

it might not feel like it at the moment but I really believe better days are coming..hopefully the trials for the vaccine are going well..new drugs have proved beneficial too..we can beat this..take care everyone 😃🌈🌼🌷🌺🦋

Until there’s more in depth statistics available it’s impossible to know why. Need to know the gender, age, health status ( other health conditions) ethnicity, housing, work if applicable and probably far more.

Could be there are more crowded housing conditions. Are there a lot of high rise flats so multiple people using communal doors, buttons on lifts etc..?

Maybe smaller shops are used more frequently in urban areas and the numbers in the shop are not limited.

I think once the reinfection rate rises to 1.5 you’re looking at multiple new infections.

We can only hope that the steroid now found to be beneficial, and the experiences medical staff have had and learnt from will mean more people will survive.

I think the people of Leicester and in particular the medical workers and carer’s need our support more than ever.

Yes - we might have hoped that the media might have been looking for relevant data.

Hi.. I'm afraid watching any news channel especially the BBC gives you a very one sided view..

I heard they found more cases through the test and trace programme in Leicester, that the city's had more of those done than anywhere else....and thats where the higher numbers have come from??

The fact is that the situation in Leicester has only gotten worse in a few months. I'm a little skeptical about the usefulness of vaccines, but we'll see. Another problem is that now it's extremely important to manage finances correctly. Recently, I lost quite a large amount of money by investing it in a low-quality asset. Fortunately, I recently discovered Mortgage Advisor Leicester who gives me advice on every issue that interests me. If you are interested you can find more information at Leicestermoneyman.com
