I am finding the protests and the wanton destruction somewhat disconcerting.
We are who we are, because of our past, good or bad.
Many good people did bad things in order to do good deeds. Robin Hood robbed from the rich in order to give to the poor! No one is perfect: Jesus asked, “let you who has not sinned cast the first stone”
It’s sad that, in two thousand years, we have learned nothing! Skin colour is immaterial, it is how you behave, and treat others in this life.
As a child I and my family had nothing, I wore clothes handed down from my brothers, my toys were secondhand. But we had respect for ourselves and for everyone else.
The statues placed around the country, are our history, a history fought for at that time. They remind us how we were and how better we could be, and should be. Removing them won’t change our history, it will always be there.
There is no nation on this planet that hasn’t dealt sometime in slavery, Africa included. Britain’s, the Greeks, Romans, Persians, all nations have subjugated other nations other races. The USA and the native Indian.
To change, we have to change TODAY for the future , the past is behind us, and is lost.
We humans ALL belong to the one race, no matter our colour, we all have two arms, legs, eyes and a brain. If we use it properly to love and help each other life will be wonderful.
God bless you all
George
