Hi everyone hope your all well and safe and social distancing . I have my pip telephone assesment on thursday ,18 weeks later from making my initial call , any tips, I'm very nervous now its defenetly going ahead as I got a tx confirming so . It's been a long wait from start to now , going to write some notes down today tho . I'm a bit worried as some of my medical issues are gynecology and embarrassed as I know it's a Male that is going to be calling me and he will be asking about those issues that affect my daily life and he wont get the impact as not being a woman so what do I say or do . My assesment was a cancellation apparently if I cancel I got told I would probably have to wait another month or so . So under them circumstances I took the cancellation. I have neurology issues to so will they asses me on both tissues or together ? Not sure how this is going to go but want it over n done now that's bad enough , then the wait again for results . Yep I'm anxious to say the least . Anyway look after yourselves be happy and love alot xx

Please do try & relax & think positive Wolf221400, we are all just the patient to the medical staff whether we are male or female, like everyone else the medical team are just doing their job, all types of patients are treated, so you are worrying unnecessary, it is all about how you think & how you approach matters Wolf221400, just tell yourself., I am delighted that I got a cancellation & hopefully all will be well,& dont dwell on negative thoughts , & all will turn out well for you, if you continue to build castles in your head, you sure will be a nervous wreck by the time you get there, you should be pleased that you managed to get an appointment during this lockdown as many clinics are still closed.. So my humble advice to you is Wolf221400, is clear all negative thoughts out of your head, & think Positive, & before you know where you are, you will have been & back.. Take care, Love, & God bless you always..xx🎉🎈

Thank you, Wolf221400, just a final little message, write down a few bullet points, to remind you what to ask, then wait on the answer, then ask the next question, until you have all your answers..You sound a very smart, positive person to me, & always remember people are people irrespective of their position in life,no better than you & me, do just tell yourself, of course I can do this , no problem, &do you know what ?Wolf221400, you will sail through it..You can do it..xxGood luck, love & God bless..xxxx🎉💝😄

Hi Wolf221400

I know you've been waiting a long time and I'm glad you've got this cancellation slot to be assessed. I can also understand that you are nervous and I think you have good reason to be. The assessment is in-depth and I've had contact online with so many people who've been refused PIP and had to appeal.

I'd say best prepare, prepare, prepare and be really truthful. Don't over-exaggerate your medical needs, but don't be tempted to try to say things are worse than they are. Stick to the parts of your medical condition that are really debilitating. If you don't need to discuss your gynaecological symptoms, steer away from that, unless they are instrumental in your needing PIP. Adding in more and more symptoms of varying health problems won't help your cause. The assessors are interested in the root cause of what is debilitating for you.

The very best of luck. Don't worry if your nervousness causes you to be hesitant or trip over your words. Just go over it all again as needed.

Wishing you the very best of luck, but remember that, if the worst happens, you can always appeal. But let's hope that won't be necessary.
