Hope you’re all keeping well. Sorry I’ve been out of the loop. I’ve had a few bad episodes of fibromyalgia and migraine spikes and after a long chat with my GP on video call on Friday, we decided it was best to go back on some meds. I feel deeply disappointed in myself after being off them for nearly a year but the flare ups are becoming more and more frequent, longer and completely debilitating. I was getting waves of depression building as my capacity to contain the pain got uncontrollable. I couldn’t think of anything but the frustration and pain and even the art/drawing went out of the window and my love of other things. So I’m waiting via online Pharmacy to send me drugs, namely Pregablin and diclofenac amongst others. Doctor doesn’t want to approve my repeat of migraine meds because she thinks I have too many painkillers already but hey ho- just hoping the migraines will settle. The post is taking an awfully long time and I’ve just been told by the pharmacy that two items are out of stock ans they can’t split the order so I’m going to have to wait longer for all the meds to arrive. In the meantime I’m going to enjoy reading all your lovely posts and hang on in there. Have a great day. 🌸💜 Dalia

So sorry to read of your illnesses Dalia, I have had fibromyalgia I know how awful that is, also migraine headaches, those stopped after I went thru thru the menopause. Not sure what made my fibro go away, I pray it does not come back.
I hope you can read, or watch quality TV, keep your stress level down if you can.
Do you have any funny books, I have a collection of Garfield and The Far Side, books and they make me laugh and forget myself for a while. Although I could not do anything when the migraines moved in on me!!! There are some lovely posts on here with paintings and photos, I am sure you have seen those, they are great and take me out of my mind for a little while. Write to us so we can be of support, I know there are other ladies that write here that have fibro, perhaps we should start a fibro support group....I send you courage, strength, peace, with love n hugs.....Sprinkle 1.......
I understand the pain of headaches: I was diagnosed some time ago with hemicrania continua (Google that), a rare chronic condition with no known cause or remedy. However. I have learned that the best way to ease an attack is aerobic exercise (I know that’s counter-intuitive) and a morning dose of caffeine via a mug of black coffee. My heart is with you; I know how that is. Stay in touch. Blessings.
Aww thank you. And wow? That’s a rare condition. The human body never fails to Baffle me. Exercise helps me too but more of a preventative. Right now when I’m in the throes nothing helps except perhaps chopping my head off! Xx
Hi Dalia,
Never feel disappointed about taking something that is going to help stop the pain ❤️ I’m sure that when it settles down you will be able to make the choice again. Relax and read the posts on here until everything’s back under control then get back painting 😉
Oh my goodness Dalia74, I don't think you should be disappointed in yourself for needing medications for your pain! I hope your pharmacy can can access the missing medications quickly for you and that, when you have your pain under control, you'll be able to enjoy being back in the community again. Please take care. 🙏
Hi Dalia, I have Fibro and other pain conditions. Unfortunately for me most of the medications are not suitable. I'm awaiting a specialist pain clinic at a Neuro Hospital for management. This is a site I already know about but it is one the centre also recommends patient's to have a look at. I've been learning technique's from it and there are free work shops on the site also. Worth looking at for long term management of chronic pain. paintoolkit.org/
Thank you, noted I’ll have a lookat this when migraine dies down. Good luck with the appointment 😘💜🌈
Hi
I'm so sorry you are suffering so much. Never feel disappointed in going on meds that will ease your pain. I have fibro, it's awful. I'm on the fibro forum on here, it's brilliant!! Take care and stay safe Lynne xxxx ❤️🤗
Thanks lovely. Yes I saw the fibro group but didn’t want to overwhelm myself joining a lot of groups ( there’s a lot on here that’s very interesting!) migraines are awful- ah the wind! Now that’s something that affects me too but because I’ve never seen it as a symptom I’ve just thought I was making it up. But hey you’ve just confirmed this to me. Sound also sets me off ( loud noises).
Thanks for being so cheerful and warm in adversity! I can relate to the migraines - used to have up to 5 per week for 25 years. And lots of pain but no-one ever said Fibromyalgia or worked out what was causing it...
