A jog and powerwalk

β€’5 Replies

The weather has been lovely and dry here today albeit quite windy during the latter part of the walk, I was out reasonably early this morning and it wasn't quite so windy then. I decided on a woodland walk today and couldn't stop thinking of the first part of the rhyme:

If you go down to the woods today

You're sure of a big surprise.

If you go down to the woods today

You'd better go in disguise!

I do love that rhyme and woods are very surprising places with the different colours, scents and the birdsong, they are wonderful places.

The smell of the garlic was absolutely beautiful today, I couldn't get enough of it. I walked a little further today, more walking than jogging as I was wearing walking boots for the woods as they are a little damp but not too bad. I walked 27741 paces today which is around 13.89 miles.

We are forecast heavy rain and wind here tomorrow so I may not get out, light rain is fine but definitely not heavy rain and winds, we've had a weather warning for 50mph winds, not pleasant when it's wet.

I hope you enjoy these photos, this is the first set, I'm going to publish another short post with the rest of the photos.

Enjoy the rest of your afternoon.

Stay safe and well.

Alicia :)

Thank you Jerry, I've always loved that rhyme and thought it was about time I changed my postingπŸ˜‰

Yes I'm so fortunate to have this on my doorstep.😊

That's a lot of walking. You inspired me to download a steps app today. Of course my health will never allow me to accumulate the amount of steps you reach but it will certainly be good for setting goals I'll be able to achieve. So, when I've got something respectable, I'll let you know. xx

I walked extra steps today as I wanted to challenge myself even more. This is me challenging myself. I was due to take part in a 26 miler across the Derbyshire Dales for charity this month but if course that's not happening now so I'm trying to find out if I'm able to walk a marathon locally for charity.

Well done on downloading the app and I'd be very interested to know how you get on. We all have our own personal challenges and that's great.it will definitely be good for setting goals.

Enjoy the rest of your evening xx😊

Oh I love these views so much. When this virus thing has passed I would like nothing better than visit this part of the world again.

Thank you and I'm glad you like them, won't it be good to travel around the countryside in the UK.😊😊
