Absolutely we lived in a very remote village and used to look forward every Saturday to the Corona lorry coming with his crates of sparkling bottles😁if Mum was well off we'd get 2 bottles otherwise it would only be 1 to last the week! Good memories xx
Yes, we had those as well as a fresh fish van (on a Friday) & a butcher's van. It was helpful to all the ladies because we lived on a brand new estate so there were no shops for quite a while. Brings back lots of pleasant childhood memories
I certainly do, we used to have a wagon come round the street called, wait for it, The Corona Man 😀 Everyone used to wait for him to come just like the ice cream man. It was great stuff.
Yes ..I remember the lemonade and ice cream soda mixed with ice cream to make an ice cream soda. And coming from London searching be for empty glass bottles to get the money back x
I vividly remember the 'Corona man'. Apart from the odd glass of fizzy lemonade, this was the first time we had choice of flavours. I especially remember the bottles with their ceramic stoppers, held on by a metal catch attached to the neck of the bottle, which kept the contents in and air out. Mum and I would make our selection each week and give back the empties, ready washed. (I actually think we could relearn this and stop all the wastefulness of materials'. 😊
Yes happy days Ilovebunnies. They used to have the vans that came around the estates doing deliveries too. If you wanted sweets you took an empty bottle to the local shop to get an old 5p for some sweets. Enjoy the weekend. Brian
I remember the Corona man coming round every Thursday afternoon. My mum used to go out to him every week and get "Two orange, a lemon and a red please." I remember it as being 10d in old money for a bottle. The family next door to us used to have bottles of Tango at a shilling a bottle because they said they were better.
