Blood in urine Eliquis?

I have been doing well since my ablation just over a year ago. My phrenic nerve was paralysed which caused me some discomfort but that seems at last,to have healed.

My latest concern is....I noticed that my urine is very bright and I mentioned it to the doctor when I went for something else. It was tested and found to contain blood. I am taking Epixaban and the doc thought this might be causing this. So for the last six weeks or so I have had to send fortnightly specimens for hospital analysis.

I am beginning ng ng to feel a bit anxious as I might have to be referred to the hospital. In this climate it is concerning as we are on lockdown. Has anyone else had this?

Hi Mouchkin, I can't help with advice on the actual occurrence of this, but I would just say do try not to let your anxiety get the better of you, if you can. At the moment it's only a guess that you will need to be referred to hospital. Leave the worrying until it is a fact, and then you will probably find you can deal with it more calmly.

If it helps, I had a friend who had to attend hospital for a follow-up to a cataract op. She explained to me all the safety procedures that are in place to protect people who have to attend with non COVID19 problems. She was kept completely separate and all staff were wearing PPE and taking extra steps to segregate all who were attending at the same time. I hope that helps. Please try to relax and have a good day 🌺

Thank you. I should be sensible as a very old nurse ..and I am really. The crazy thing is..I feel so well. The GP says it is quite common with this drug ..anticoagulant. We have just moved and we are so lucky to have found a really nice surgery in the village. My heart has settled beautifully now too..having been a bit dodgy for a while. Thank God for this lovely weather as we are on lockdown. I am enjoying being in the garden and sorting out our new house. We are both 81 and I have other health issues.

Do you remember - when you went to hospital, if things were "normal" you got into a ward, if they were busy you got parked in a corridor, and if things were really bad your were in the car park?

Now... the car park is the best place to be!

My brother had to go to hospital to have a blood sample taken - and he met someone at far end of the car park, and had it done in another building far from the main hospital.
