Is it me or is the longest March ever? Have we moved into some strange universe? Is this a dream? I wish I could wake up from it!

lol, our lockdown here in France has been extended to 15 April - I have a feeling April will seem even longer - but I was remembering today being on bed rest with 2 out of 3 of my pregnancies - that was much worse, so I guess I've done it before and survived. We can do this!!

Hi Quantum,

I know what you mean! What a strange new reality we find ourselves in. Luckily the human spirit is usually much more resilient than we give it credit. It's not a pleasant time, but if we can just be really strong and stoic we will get through and come out on the other side. We are doing a really important job by self isolating, giving others a better chance to survive as well as ourselves.

It's a tough, tough thing but mankind has faced so many tough things through the ages. If we come through it, one day we'll tell those who come behind us how we were there, and we got through it all. As backintime said, 'We can do this'. And we will!

Yup, but have just checked, the clocks go forward early Sunday, so Spring is sort of here, then we will have Easter eggs on our own!!

Dear Comfortnotspeed,

I DON'T think, this month is Actually Longer, than 'normal' but Does it FEEL it! Normally it's January, that Feels 'Forever', but not this year. If you can remember back, that far, we were all 'Worrying about Brexit', that and Getting 'Rid' of the Stagnated House of Commons. I almost recall, those times, as Fond Memories now....

Happy Days?

It is a strange feeling the isolated streets , worry in case you get it and it makes you ill or kills you, people not able to communicate with each other, no social interaction. In a smaller context if you become ill and survive you will be immune I thought viruses don't give you immunity against future illness of the same virus, only if the illness is bacterial. Am I wrong I wonder ??? The isolation bit is only to prevent spread as our services womt be able to cope, makes sense but weird way of life for three months. Have a nice day I have some jigsaws to do .

The immunity is only temporary, unfortunately.

Once the virus mutates, we are back to square one.

It will end up like the flu I expect, that each year the medics will try to decide which version will be out the coming winter, and vaccinate for that.

First they have to find a workable vaccine for this Primary one.

It certainly feels much longer, along with the problems of being told by Government NOT to go out (I'm72) and being unable to get food delivery for love or money!

Tesco is refusing to prioritise the Elderly, Disabled, NHS and pregnant women for food delivery.

I stayed up beyond midnight last night to try to grab a slot, but even being on the website at the time slots were released, they were gone within seconds! Needless to say, I have complained, along with many others, but Tesco are not listening, so I have to go out, against orders, for 'Oldies hour'.

My son has been quite ill with a chest infection, so it is quite feasible that I could be spreading Covid 19 unknowingly. I have been unable to get masks, so I use a scarf over my mouth and nose.

It is time the Government introduced rationing, to stop the people stockpiling and profiteering. I went out to Tesco on bin day and was shocked to see one household had totally filled their food caddy, and left out piles of rotting spuds beside it! Several huge bags!

Cheers, Midori

I think it is shocking and I am sorry for your predicament.

Things have calmed down a little here in the supermarkets, but I’m not sure about ordering online.

I’m in my fifties, my parents started self isolation some time ago because Dad is very vulnerable. I feel glad that I can help them but extremely anxious about what would happen if I had to isolate.

With all the volunteers that came forward, surely there is a group who would help bring food to those who need support?

Unfortunately I have only recently moved to Wales, and things are strange to say the least.

Are you in England, if you are get both your parents registered online on the gov.uk/coronavirus-extremely-vulnerable site. This will mean help will be possible from others. When I did this, I received a 'phone call from my local council to check what I might need and when.

No, Wales has its own laws and conventions, so You.Gov only applies to England. It's not my parents, either, myself and my son.

People do do things like that while others starve, I had a birthday hamper this morning delivered by Brakes the wholesalers with basics like long life milk, pasta, bread fruit baked beans two toilet roles and basic drinks , like tea bags, coffee sachets, milk, plus hand wash, soap . and individual packets of biscuits just enough for a week. Potatoes ,Rice & pasta with tin of Tomatoe puree. Which was a good surprise well done to those who did it.

Try your local council web site, mine has information on people who will deliver a box of basics.

Yes it does feel that way. I think this year has been a little like that anyway. The constant barrage from the weather hasn't helped. I feel like I've already stayed in the house more than I would normally. 🙄🌧🌬
