Anxiety levels increasing

We are going through a difficult and painful time

I live on my own in small flat unemployed and unmarried and now my Mother who lives alone makes me worry

I see that the Corona virus is spreading there and as I am in England I find myself anxious and agitated because I am not in a position to take a plane

There are days I can cope and days I find the isolation and Lockdown very hard to cope with

I have a small rented flat the tenants are due to leave next month but I am waiting to see how much they are willing to pay as this is my only income

Some are able to cope better than others

Please don't hesitate to continue posting on here, we are here to support from a distance. I can only understand how difficult it must be with your mum so far away but the only thing you can do is check on her by phoning her each day to see how she is.

As long as your mum doesn't leave where she is she should be perfectly safe and if she has parcels delivered then they should just put them on the doorstep so she doesn't have any contact.

You are in my thoughts at this very difficult time but please be assured we are all in this together and support each other.

Dear Crazy Fitness

I hope you are keeping safe and well

I thank you for your kind words of great understanding

My Mother is elderly and lives on jet own

She is all that I have and this will explain my fear

I thank you for your kind words

I do speak to her and I will try to be very patient in this period of uncertainty

I hope you keep well

How to you occupy yourself

Thank you again

in reply toRoukaya

I'm doing well thank you.

I meant to say that deep breathing is very good at calming anxiety, I also go to yoga but of course not at the moment so I'm going to do some at home that's very good.

I understand how hard it is, this forum is here to support, I know not in person but I hope the words help.

Stay safe and well and take care.

I hope you are well

I thank you for your kind words

How are you

How do you spend your day

I thank you for being of great support

I should concentrate on the exam resits and I was advised to apply for a years work experience to return back to work

Instead of fearing the worst

in reply toRoukaya

I'm good thank you.

I was very tearful when this started but I've since been thinking of positive things like how grateful I am for my family who, like a lot of people don't live with me so I'm missing them.

I exercise as much as i can and it really helps a lot. When the weather changes ie if it rains again I'll be following the free exercises that are on tv at present.

You are welcome and we are here to support each other.

Yes concentrate on your results as I'll give you something to focus on, that's what we need at difficult times like this.

Look after yourself and try some deep breathing, it really does help.

Take care

Thank you to be so understanding

I will try to take one day at a time

I expect you worry about your loved ones like I do

I expect I have always been able to cope knowing I could alwzys takr a plane

But our wings are clipped

We are all facing uncertainty

I had been through a lot prior to losing my Father so with this terrible virus I have a fear of the unknown

I wish you well

Stay Safe

Oh most definitely one day at a time, best way.

Oh yes I do worry but then try and focus on the positives.

They are very uncertain times but we will get through and come out the other end.

Losing a parent is hard I don't have parents alive now but I look back and smile at my memories of them.

Stay safe and take care xx

Hi Roukaya ,

Can you call your mom and check on how she’s doing today?

Take a few deep breaths in and out slowly and relax. Things will take time to get better, but we have to work together as a team and help each other.

I do call my Mother to see how she is and is careful as there is also a lock down where she is

I hope you are safe and well

How did you spend your day

I’m okay here. Thank you for asking.

I’ve been babysitting today at my house for my Nephew and Niece.

I hope your mom is okay. Are you okay?

Thank you

I think the enforced isolation with the removal of all distraction

To focus on fear is working against me

I will have to take each day as it comes

Yes, taking each day as it comes is a good idea. You can also talk with everyone in the group.😀👍 That way, we all can get ideas from each other on how to help each other.

Hello Roukaya. You are already dealing with some of your fears just by posting and sharing them with us.

You sound a bit lonely and because you are living on your own and now in lockdown you have a lot of time to think and worry. You probably know what I am going to say but I will say it anyway. You have to find ways of taking your mind off the current situation we are all in. We cant do anything about it but we can help ourselves by helping others ! It will fill your time and you will feel a sense of companionship and satisfaction.

The internet is amazing and helps us to keep in touch. This Forum will support you and others like you. But you have to play your part too!

For example some of us here write poems, post jokes, take photos or make up quizzes to keep up our spirits. Some of us talk about how we are spending our time or what we are interested in. It all helps.

For the time being we have to look to our inner selves to find the strength to cope with a very difficult and unusual period in our lives. So, apart from other lovely ways of filling our time like cooking, gardening and other hobbies, I would ask you to consider writing to us about how you spend your time. In the meantime, think about the things that interest you and tell us about them. We would love to hear about them and its a way of getting to know you better. I hope you will.

I think I've said enough for now, so cheers for now and hope to hear from you again soon.

So sorry. Coping in US the same. Airtravel prohibited unless to essential job business. I cope okay on some day's other meltdowns. Live alone with 🐕. Landlord's in US prohibited from evictions. Some are generous enough to waive rent fee. Other well to do celebrities and generous people with huge $'s paying rent for entire complex of renter's. Most cities in CA helping homeless. Placing in RV's donated and in hotel's. Positive tested health worker's required to quarantine offered the same. Positive police force offered the same with police fund $'s vs State funding.
