New Lock down Measures

I have just heard the new measures

Very sweeping and far reaching but how life has dramatically change within a few weeks

It is done primarily for our own safety but those who have family and who do not live alone will be able to adjust to such measures

I have lived on my own since I was twenty three and now fifty and always I could just take a plane and visit my Mother

I understand the gravity of the situation but adjusting to a whole new world being on my own is very hard to adjust to

I know what you mean, I've lived on my own for about 30 yrs, I work part time in a leisure centre, now closed, where I'll see lots of people and talk to people on the phone, now I'm in my little flat, and it's hard as I'm missing the people at work and when it's a, sunny day and I want to go for a walk its better to stay indoors, I'm planning each week to have a short walk one day and go to the local shops another, otherwise just stay in and get the housework done that usually gets left behind, look after yourself x

Dear Jenny Mary

Thank you for relating to my situation

I understand the necessity but hard to come to terms with on a day to day basis

Thank you for your tips in coping

Stay safe

I think Jennymary has the right idea. Setting goals or a rota for the week. Regular exercise is important, shopping. Maybe try a new hobby. Routine is a good idea to keep everything ticking over until some normality returns. x

Well I will look out for your post and give an opinion or a word of support so take good care of yourself. We will all adjust to the situation, we are all in the same position so don't feel you are in it alone. x

Can you set up a group chat between family or friends and have a time each day to do this.

It is going to be tough not seeing family I have an elderly mother and 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren that I’m not going to see for possibly 3 months but we are going to move our holiday plans to when this is all over. That will keep me going and want to be fit and healthy to run (well maybe fast walk) with the kids for my mum to watch so that’s my goal and will think of that when it gets tough and work towards keeping fit to do it.

Take care and plan for that plane journey and what you will do.

Thank you, much appreciated, that's why I'm posting what I've done each day, and let my imagination run wild with spending the 30p I found

Concerning the thirty pence you have found

I would put it towards a fund and each time you find more money put this towards a cause very close to your heart

Dear Jerry

Thank you for your kind words

I am lonely but I should learn in all of this to appreciate the value of life

I worry about my Mother and I try to ring her to see how she is

I have read your profile and I should try to resume my studies in Wills and Probate

I narrowly missed the pass mark so I should learn to concentrate on why I had missed the pass mark

I could also start to apply for work placements in Wills and Probate after the lock down

I thank you for giving me courage and moral support

I hope that you continue to be kind to yourself and a tower of strength for all that need your understanding

Well.....will join in for conversation

Got up an hour ago, just sick to the stomach and my head bursting from the pain....all because I bought and ate food that I can never tolerate. It was just pasta 🍝 I bought this last week from a greengrocer shop as most supermarkets and shops were empty

O man o man...I am suffering so badly....living alone comes at a price

Just to say there are plenty of people who live alone for whatever reason and it is a big population, more specifically 60% of people in London live alone. I cherish this, suits me well 🦋🦋🌾🌾

I think the pasta has caused a colic problem to due with intolerance of carbohydrates

I suffer from IBS which is exacerbated by stress anxiety and eating complex carbohydrates and spicy foods

I think if you have any yoghurt try this

Herbal teas are good at relieving pain

Watch your diet and keep away from carbohydrates if this is causing problems with your digestive tract

Try to have soups salads and vegetables to reinforce the digestive tract

Also be careful of milk

I have suffered from IBS for years and for me it can be diet and heightened anxiety

The body and mind are interconnected

Be kind to yourself and to your body as you have been to me

Thanks Roukaya, so true diet is key to who we are. As they say You Are What You Eat

Can’t go near dairy, if I do I will be in my grave. But occasionally have coconut yogurt

You too, look after yourself, will be around this forum on and off ❤️

I’ve lived on my own for nearly 40 years but this virus crisis restrictions is way beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. I realise the importance of the restrictions. Just visited my local Co-op store and had to queue to get in as only 5 people are allowed in at a time. Very few essentials on shelves anyway. Internal post office open but restricted queues for that too. Local buses running Sunday services but I’ve given up thoughts of going to town if I have to queue to get into shopping centre and maybe again for individual shops still open. Sighs!

It is a huge shock and adjusting and adapting to the change

Social isolation is very hard for those who live alone

Very hard but this virus can strike at any time this is why it is essential to take cate of ourselves

But hard as I value my little life which enabled me to travel ad and when I please

My wings are clipped but for the sake of our health and well being this will be the sacrifices we need to make
