I just read a post from the well known life coach Tony Robbins

He said we are going through challenging times to every thing in life there is a season

It is natural to feel fear and anxiety I myself suffer from this

But he advised to consider this period as a winter season to go with what we are facing and prepare ourselves for a spring which will follow

Very strong words to motivate and inspire

I once saw the old Chinese proverb out of crisis comes Opportunity

I wonder what opportunities we will be able to discover if God allows us to survive

I am 77 and have No fear. I made up my mind when I was 16 I was not going to let fear rule my life. I think this virus is a huge threat to humanity, But it Will End, things in life Always end, we have to bear that in mind. For those that work and are out of work now, consider it is like a long weekend, do things you like to do, need to do, catch up on some repairs, start getting your garden ready to plant if you are into gardening. I live by myself, I do not have enough hours in my day to catch up with a lot of things. I love to read and am squeezing some of that in now. I get tired so I usually make my dinner 5/6 pm and take the rest of the day off, read, watch DVD's. Yes the Chinese saying is correct, this virus also brings with it opportunity. So lets dig our heals in, stay connected by phone or computer, do Not worry, and get one with your life the best way you can.

Dear Sprinkle

I can only read between the lines that you are a great survivor with great life experiences

I expect it is human nature to be fearful and with this brings anxiety

I have started to understand that we are going through an immensely challenging time and I miss my Mother greatly as she made her own life from scratch when she separated from my Father

She reclaimed her life and I have witnessed her struggles and this why I worry about her as she is 72

I must agree your message conveys great strength and personal resilience

I hope you enjoy your dinner and stay safe

I like the Chinese proverb more, it has real depth of the situation. A strong statement won't be forgotten. Fear and anxiety are natural, that's how we managed to get here on the evolutionary scale. We are made to adapt and adapt very quickly, even if you think you can't, you can. When major events happen, that have never happened before, we all have some degree of fear and anxiety so you are not alone in this and will do better than those who are only experiencing it for the first time because of this new event. What you have to remember is that, at one time everything was a new event and we are still here, carrying on. xx

Very well written

I believe in the chinese proverb as it was staring at me when I was working a a law clerk

I am sorry you are alone but it is important to keep your focus, keep trying to achieve what you are aiming for, that's important. Your mum will want you to do that. It's natural to worry about your mum and she will feel the same keep safe and follow advice, let your mum know that and she will have a rested mind knowing you are doing all that you are able. x

Very wise words

Me and my Mother have moved mountains together since my Father had made our lives difficult since I was a child

He did take us back and he was there for us to a certain extent

I miss her so much as she is overseas but given your kind words of wisdom I should continue to try

How are you managing

How do you spend your days in Social Isolation

I am lucky. I have a supportive family and we are in contact constantly, so nothing has really changed there. I look at life like I might not be able to change what is happening but I can change the way I react to it. I think, we are all learning new ways of keeping occupied presently and it's good to know what other people think and what their opinions and thought are. When people are speaking together, you are never truly alone. x

Our new set of circumstances

I hope to have the support of members of this site as I am on my own but I can hopefully focus on what I should do

Hi Roukaya

A lovely post from you,...lot to think about what opportunities we could have from this isolation. Strangely I had a solid 2 hours sleep which is a rarity for me. Hope you managed to occupy yourself today, we had sun but was freezing

Enjoy the evening xx

Thank you for answering

I went out to buy some essential groceries and watched the news

I should prepare for my fourth attempt in a specialist legal exam for Wills and Probate

I worry also about my Mother who lives alone overseas

I have a tendency to think about what I could have done but now given this crisis I will learn to accept the Winter season that Tony Robins said and try to focus inwardly as if I not always alone

On the bus stop today I saw a young man argue and bully his friend

The friend just stormed off

Many times I complain i am lonely but always I reason it is better to be alone than with those who make you unhappy

When facing such a challenge on such a monumental scale I learn to appreciate the value of life

You did lots of positive things ☝️I have been living on my own for years, it can be tough when you are sick but I have been lucky to have been looked after by the system and enjoy my own company. In a nutshell, I am lucky but this does not stop me to think about dispossessed, poverty and those who cannot access even a clean glass of water.

I am sure you will do well in your exam. I know that my ill health never stopped me to go to higher education and did the works within my own abilities. You will get there. Mothers are one and and only and precious. Wish you and your mum a good health

Stay safe xx

Dear Painny

Thank you for your kind words

I am lonely but as the same time I have lived by myself since I was twenty three

My Mother would always visit and if I could not cope Mum always a plane ride away

How everything has changed

I sponsor three girls in Syria and two in Sudan

As my Father almost lost everything I looked after him and his business and protected him and his financial affairs

This is why I can to a certain extent give back to those who have lost everything

This is lesson I learnt many years ago

Thank you for your kind words and very encouraging

I hope you keep safe and well

How nice that this has helped you so much Roukaya. I know you've been going through an extra tough time.

One thing that will probably happen quite soon is that this will become our new normality. Most people struggle with big life changes and this is a really big one, and is causing fear because none of us can predict an outcome. So the whole thing becomes like an unmanageable and solid ball of wax. But if we can melt it and break it into smaller pieces, it doesn't look quite so scary. And listening to something inspirational helps to do that.

Stay positive and stay well.

Dear Callendergall

Thank you for responding to my post

I think in all of this I truly miss my Mother

as she is living overseas

All I can do is ring and support her.

I was able to to understanding the wording and the meaning of what was I was quoted

I think change of this magnitude will take time adjusting to

I understand that I have mental health issues and if God Allows I will resume the study for Wills and Probate and also study for a Mental Health Diploma

Mental health has always been present in my life from the parent I cared for

I think if learn more about approaching my issues with better mental health may be then I can attempt to pass the Diploma in Wills and Probate

I think that by going to buy groceries in town it is for us to exercise extra caution

I hope we all give positive and uplifting support during this difficult time especially for those who have no one in UK

Yes roukayna fear is only a natural response, but we must remember this too shall pass. I find thinking of others that survived wars and famine console me that I am lucky by comparison 😊happy Tuesday
