Red cheeks, tremor

Do you know, if these symptoms (after being 6 weeks in Prednisolon) side effects of cortison or signs of high blood pressure:

- red cheeks

- shiver in my hands specially after some physical efforts and weakness in other muscles, too.

Before PMR or Pred I seldom had such symptoms.

Hello Juiperina

Yes both symptoms can be side effects of the steroids - many of us complain of chubby cheeks with a healthy glow, and find that we feel shaky, but these side effects do improve as you get to the lower doses. It's a good idea to have blood pressure monitored though as Pred is known to carry a risk of high blood pressure.

Red cheeks! Hello juniperina, just to say that I've been on blood pressure tablets for about a year now and on prednisolone for over 7years and find that I get a red face and a moon face most of the time, I've also had a lot of pain in the hands but I put that down to

Ramipril that works along side of the b.pressure tablets . I hope your symptoms improve. Trish29

I have red cheeks every morning and you should see me when I have a glass of wine.

I look like Aunt Sally from Worzel Gummidge.

Thank you for the answers! - Maybe it's beautiful - a little bit to blush as if we were shy young girls? ;)

My blood pressure has been good, but in the future I'll ask for monitored. Hope yours stay in good level. Keep well!

I feel as if I have a fatter face too (especially in Photos) Family and friends say I look the same as before Pred but I think they are being kind! Also have noticed my cheeks looking Rosy (worse after alcohol!!)........ not great BUT........ both things are worth putting up with compared to the terrible pains and washed out feeling I had before steroids!

We have to keep it all in perspective and sharing experiences on here makes it all feel better and not the end of the world..................

Yes Juniperina - beautiful. After all, it's better than looking haggard. Even pred can be kind sometimes as it takes the inflammation away.

I know what you mean about the alcohol enhancing this look, Jude and suzieh, but be careful - one night after a couple or so, I looked in the bathroom mirror whilst preparing for bed and thought " good gracious, that fat, red faced, cross-eyed creature can't be me!" Then I staggered as quietly as possible to bed feeling mortified. Ha! Ha!

Pats.
