Months of pain and dissability, with 5 doctor's and consultant saying that I had carpel tunnel I'm now receiving 15ml steroids and now I'm on top of the world again. I do hope it will last.. Doctors will not say if it is PMA or not.Keith.

Keith, I'm so sorry to hear that you have been suffering for so long. The Drs are probably testing you out with the 15mg dose of steroid to see if you have a fast response and relief in your symptoms and if so will use that as confirmation of PMR. If it is PMR, you will probably find that your pain improves by around 70% in a matter of hours to a couple of days. If you are someone who had raised ESR and CRP blood test markers prior to diagnosis, then hopefully your GP has asked you to return for another blood test to check that the inflammation is being controlled. Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on.
