Hi Yusuf,

How unfortunate for you, but at least you're on the downward path now. Hope all goes well. At least it should be easier to control your weight.

Good luck, Pats.

I was on 20mg for a long time but it was needed to be pain free. I had lost just over a stone before I went on pred and have put about 10lb back on. Pred gives you an appetite so as long as you don't give in to the hunger by having more food than normal your weight should not be to much affected. 5 stone is a lot to put on. Try eating several small meals a day instead of large ones 3 times aday this will also keep your sugar levels even throughout the day and you won't feel tired.. I know only to well this is easier said than done as I am trying my hardest to do the same as I am diabetic to. Good luck with the drop in pred

Keep smiling

Sue

I have the greatest sympathy with the weight gain - it has been a struggle for me too.

I do think that reducing your pred by 1 mg every two weeks is far too ambitious - my consultant has reduced my dose far more gradually and I think that is the key to successful lowering ofmthe dose without getting the unwanted side effects.

Good luck with the rest of your treatment - it does get better!
