or is it yet another curveball that GCA is throwning at me during this taper, the last few nights have been a challenge, trouble breathing and alot of coughing,weezing and gurgling when exhaling....I have read you can be more susceptible to infections when on prednisone...I thought it may be a good idea for a doctor to have listen to my lungs and maybe get an xray done....

Most certainly yes and sooner rather than later. Have you had any flu like symptoms with it or is it just the respiratory symptoms you describe and nothing else? You last post 6 days ago doesn’t mention any.

I thought I might have had a bit of a cold last week but that cleared up...then a couple of days later I started getting the chest symptoms....my wife said my breathing was really bad last night the gurgling woke her up....now I was diagnosed with COPD this past summer but it does not really bother me much and I was taking Symbicort for it....I stopped the symbicort when I started the prednisone.

Is there somewhere you can pop along to for someone to examine you? You need them to rule out a few potential causes. Don’t sit on it. If you have been taking any Tylenol make sure they know as it suppresses fever.

going to the walkin clinic tomorrow....just checked my temp and no fever....

just back from the clinic and the doctor says my lungs sound clear...she also said I should start using my pufer again for the COPD.....I do feel better today!

That’s great news. Perhaps the bubbling was mucus in your throat when you were sleeping.
