Hi all I had an Ultrasound guided injection in my left wrist yesterday (Friday) afternoon. It was very impressive watching how it all worked on the screen, with the operator/technician/medical man explaining to me everything that was happening. All of this with a "big" needle inside my wrist.
He was looking, via the ultra sound readings, for the optimum place, in my case, places to inject the local anaesthetic and steroid into.
He did say mine was extremely unusual case- well it would be wouldn't it!!! - It was fascinating watching it all happen. I asked what the big red flashes were and he said "oh, that's your major artery and I need to miss that if possible" we both laughed. No real pain, just the initial prick of the needle on entry, then that strange feeling when the liquid is pushed into your system.
Anyway, whole thing took about thirty minutes and back in three weeks for the right wrist. Nothing seems very different this morning, but time might tell!
