Recommendations for a private Rheumatologist

Morning All.

I have several autoimmune conditions with PMR being the most recently diagnosed in June 24. Managed by GP but following an ongoing flare since December I have been referred to my local hospital rheumatology team. I am off work due to my symptoms and am currently on 20mg prednisone (with no improvement).

Waiting time to see rheumatologist is approximately 6 months. I need to see someone sooner. I live in Bedfordshire but willing to travel. Do any of you wonderful people have a consultant who you would recommend?

Our usual go-to suggestion is Prof Rod Hughes - working out of Chertsey, Surrey if any good -

Another vote here for Rod Hughes in Chertsey.

I have to say - if 20mg isn't touching it it would suggest it may not be PMR as we mean it although some people do need 25mg to get things going. PMR is the name for a set of symptoms - that can have several possible underlying causes.
