I have been having nocturnal leg and more specifically toe cramping for the past 4-5 years. I have tried creams, calcium and magnesium supplements, heating pads and ice packs that did not help at all. my cramps were random, only occurring 2-3 times weekly and roughly 1-2 hours after falling asleep.
I recently tried using compression socks 15-20mmHg, to see if maybe it could help and I haven't had a cramp in 42 straight days.
Hope this helps someone!

They are just below the knee. I wear them only during the day and they have stopped my foot and toe cramps during the night completely. Do not know if it will work for everyone, but worth a try.
Thank you. I actually have some like that and the doctor prescribed them to me for playing golf, standing a lot or when flying (in an aeroplane that is). I don't know why I stopped wearing them. Maybe when the weather got hot but I will certainly do so again as I get cramps during the night too. Happy 2025!
Feel for your RaisinBran. I use a deep heat spray in the can and the cramps go in a few minutes. Now I take a pinch of salt with my supper and that helps. My GP suggested that as I dont have the 6mg of salt in any of my foods which is the suggested limit. My cramps are usually in the toes and then creep up to the shins and worse to inner thighs but only at night. Never in the calves. Hands cramp up in the day time but not at night so wear half gloves and squeeze a small ball if they start. Hope you get some relief and better management of them.
