SPIKEvax Covid vaccination, has anyone had this?

I’m booked for my Covid vaccination tomorrow and hoped for Pfizer again but just found out it is this one which I haven’t heard of. Has anybody had any adverse reactions to it? I had my flu jab a few weeks ago so not expecting any problems but have been trying to avoid the Moderna option because it seems to cause more reactions.

No I I don’t like Moderns at all. Had side effects last time and a friend of mine was really poorly following it. Fortunately my surgery was offering Pfizer,If they had offered Moderna I would have paid £95 to have Pfizer!! …. I’d rather be poorer than ill like last time! Just me!

I had it recently without any problems

I fear Spikevax is the new name for Moderna.

Yes… at least half of mine have been Moderna/Spikevax… no problem with any of them…

I always seek out the Moderna in preference to the Pfizer, and am fine with it.

I had the spikevax vaccine about a month ago, no issues other than a sore arm for a couple of days

No problem with it, not even a sore arm.

Yes. First time in 6-ish jabs. All our surgery patients had it this time. No problems at all for us both, not even a sore arm. I think if you look you will find somebody who has a bad reaction…whatever jab you post about! No one jab will suit 100% of people!

I react to all of the Covid vaccines particularly Moderna, but they’re better than having a full blown Covid infection.

Mask up if you go . The Viralese nasal spray is good from Amazon, along with First defence for helping protect us .

Flu jab was fine, I blame that for starting PMR in the first place in 2012.

Take care x

Sorry for late response - been on a 3-day rugging 'retreat'! I had the Moderna Spikevax a month ago. My arm was sore for a day, but no notable adverse effects.

Good luck!💉

Your mind - what about mine?! 12+ hour days rugging and chatting from breakfast until bedtime with 22 other ruggers.....!!! 😵‍💫 Seriously, it was a lovely break, but I'm now back to the peace and quiet of home - the silence is deafening!

Not a RELAXING or PEACE-SEEKING retreat then?

I bottled out in the end. 3mg isn’t quite doing it for me and I have had a sore throat and headache for a few days and now my shoulders are complaining. It’s been over a week since I settled at 3mg after months of rather disorganised tapering and I think I need to return to 3.5 before a full blown flare erupts.

Oh dear, we're sorry to hear that, but we need what we need, don't we?

Take care and keep warm. 💐 (I'm having to acclimatise to home after a toasty guest house!)

Had SpikeVAX a week ago. This is the new name for the Moderna type. My arm was fine but I got muscle aches around the waist area. Had difficulty bending down. Think of it as not being able to touch your toes when beforehand you could. It went away after four days. This is the first time I've had a reaction like that for a Covid shot.
