Is this why MTX works for some and not for others?

Another interesting article from my inbox today! I'm sure you are all aware of the excitement about the gut microbiome and also that some people get a good result with MTX and others don't. Maybe the two are linked:

Thanks for sharing this. My recent reading of the book "A Silent Fire" helped me better grasp the terms used in this article.

I have been curious why I responded "favorably" to MTX, while others could not tolerate it. I guessed that perhaps I had another underlying autoimmune condition (other than PMR), but perhaps it is due to my gut microbiome??

Or both. There is a lot unknown about most of this and it pays to be open-minded - as we know so many of our doctors aren't ...

Same work probably - the MTX study was in RA patients.

thank you very interesting. Followed up on butyrate and came back to basically the Mediterranean diet. ! Fiber rich and well hydrated confirmed. Very glad to see the medical profession looking more into gut health.
