If you responded to my questions re sciatica and PMR thank you very much. I am sifting through advice and trying to sort what might get me through this pain. Moreover is there no one out there who can do some scientific research on why there is a clear propensity for the duo together ? If I can get to see/ speak to my rheumy before Xmas I will be asking him. Keep fighting ladies!

Sciatica can be due to spasmed muscles pinching the sciatic nerve - that can be exaccerbated by PMR which has a large component of myofascial pain syndrome and musculotendinous inflammation and the muscle spasm can be due to that.

they (info through Google) reckon up to 40% of people suffer from sciatica at some point during their lives. Mine was alive & kicking well before I was diagnosed with PMR, but I appreciate it could be exacerbated by PMR.
